I know for certain that there will be queen beds and a murphy bed at AB. Open Mouse for CM's this Friday, and I have seen the display room

Thanks for your help. I knew there was also, but I just needed some back up so to speak, so it wasn't just a rumor from my lips. Lol.

I like the picture. It's good and besides, there's no one around the pool, which makes it even better! Peaceful and quiet! :thumbsup2

Donna

Thanks it is very hard there to capture shots like these.

Out of curiosity is there a mosquito issue at the resort? Or anywhere at WDW. My wife is a natural magnet for them (one of the many reasons I married her! So I wouldn't be the magnet anymore :rotfl:). It just occurred to me with all the "swamp" and river themes there might be an issue, and the whole resort is built on swamp land!

Went to Maui, took a dip in the water to see if it was worth the effort (corals, fish etc), 5 minutes later she's waving me back to shore (on no a shark is after me??) nah mosquitos from a freshwater lake on the other side of the beach got her in the make-up chair and turned her into a Klingon!

I have never noticed any Mosquitos maybe the resorts take extra measures to spray the grounds to prevent this.

I called yesterday to downgrade my room from Royal to garden view. I told the CM to put a request in for the mansions, ground floor. She told me that booking garden view meant I'd be guaranteed a mansion room. Aren't there garden view rooms in AB? She also tried to tell me that there's no way we'd be put in AB section since we're only a party of 3, that they're reserved only for parties of 5.

Isn't this wrong info? :confused3

That's horse sh@t because we are a party of three and we stayed in AB section last year. Also why downgrade from royal to just garden view? Yeah it is a lil bit more, but we were only going to do this royal thing once. Plus our lil one saw the pics already so were doing it.

I'm still on the fence about the downgrade. I did it b/c I was having buyer's remorse! :lmao: Also, I never stayed POR before and thought if I stayed in a regular room, I'd be more immersed in the theme.

Ohh yeah we have stayed in them quite a bit. But the royal themed ones are still themed in POR Princess and the frog so its not some crazy other princess theme that doesn't go with the general one. I believe you would regret downgrading if you do.

Iv never stayed there either and am staying for the first time in 45 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I cant wait! Our next trip there we will be staying in the Royal Rooms. I think that if you downgrade, then change your mind, you wont be able to get the room back. Maybe keep the room, later after you have seen actual pics, make up your mind-just a thought :)

I agree with you. But I know we aren't downgrading.

my daughter was so excited when we got to the room because the headboards have Princess and the Frog murals..she was thrilled (and she is 13) with how they made the theme tie in with the movie

Oh goodness this thread is a danger to my pocket book.

I am currently booked at POP but am now considering a move to POR to the Royal Rooms and renting a car. :lovestruc

Backstage_Gal - Any chance we'll see photos of these model rooms from the CM "Open Mouse"? (I've never heard of that, cute ... ) Or would photography be restricted?

I wonder if the Murphy beds will be similar to the ones I've seen from Aulani. Those are in a cabinet under the television and pivot out sideways instead of longways like most Murphy beds I've seen.

We will be arriving in 10 days, we're booked in the preferred room category.
Just wondering how the rooms are holding up, I know we'll have 2 double beds instead of 2 queen beds. I guess as long as they're clean we'll be OK.

Any photos of the quiet pool that near building 14-15?

I would most likely suspect there will be no photography, and Disney will release the photos when they are ready.

I pulled up the map from Andre's site and noted the shape on the pools on the AB side.

From the shape, it appears that this is the one:

Here are the pics I took now I took this with a Kodak Camera at night so not so good quality. But I personally think the pool looks like a Mickey.

Sorry, no pics allowed. I think the Aulani style murphy would be a good bet with the size of the rooms.

I hope you are right! She was so certain of herself, though:lmao:.

I don't mind it when the Disney Reservations Center staff don't know absolutely everything about everywhere (WDW is massive, and very few people know everything). However the correct procedure is to admit it, and let the guest know that you'll find out the answer for them.

What I do hate is when they are positively, authoritatively, definitively, patronisingly... 100% wrong.

I'm 99% sure that you will be able to get garden view rooms in Alligator Bayou by the way, but that is obviously still to be finally confirmed with the first bookings at the start of 2012 so feel free to believe the DRC version of that in the meantime. However it is definitely possible for parties of three to stay in Alligator Bayou - unless the whole section is already full of groups of five of course, but that's a lot of rooms!!
