does building 39 have any standard rooms? Just wondering if anyone knows which rooms in building 39 are closest to the quiet pool?

Building 39 would only have water view and garden view rooms.

Sorry I have been gone a while... but I come back bearing great news. For those of you craving Le Cellier for 2013 they are now accepting reservations!!! They just unlocked them!

Are the danish, muffins and cinnamon rolls at Riverside Mill considered a snack credit?

Hubby seems to think we are going to use a snack credit for b-fast....I am wanting to use them on more interesting snacks in the parks.

Checking out today. So sad! :(

Our trip got off to a rough start. My mom tripped off a curb in MK and ended up in the ER. Disney was, of course, wonderful about the whole thing. But mom was in a lot of pain all week and didn't get to really enjoy it as much as she would have. Thankfully she and my aunt only stayed for part of the week (which was always the plan). She never would have made it eight days!

Buses were a disaster the first few days. We finally realized that we had to go to the South Depot or we'd never get on a bus. East was closer (back side of Oak) but it was worth the walk. Almost every bus was full by the time it got to East and they'd tell us a new one was coming but the new one stopped at all the other stops again before getting to us so it'd just be full again when it arrived. Very frustrating! Don't use east!!!

The employees in charge of recreation are awesome. My kids had a blast with everything. W e kinda want to come spend a week at POR without doing the parks, just enjoying the resort!

Sorry to hear about your Mom's accident. :(
Did you stay in Oak Manor Royal Room?? That's where we'll be in a few weeks. So you say NOT to use the East bus depot. Have to try to remember that! Was transportation bad the entire time at East depot?

Yes, east was always bad unless you were leaving really early. Like 7am for a Pre-opening CRT reservation. I think that was the only time we did ok at east! South was never very crowded and taking the bridge nearest Oak was great. It lands right at tge edge of the main building and you can just walk across the front and straight to the bus stop.

Yes.

I did it two years ago for 8 days; all resorts, no parks. It is very convenient to take the DTD bus back from the resorts in the evenings, and then the water taxi back to POR.

Nuts, that is so not what I want to hear!:( My youngest niece would like to stay in a royal room, but my sis likes to be close to a bus stop, and ideally be able to have a good shot at sitting down. If we booked just a standard royal room, would that give us a view of the parking lot, and maybe be closer to busing than if we had an upgraded view?

That would most likely put you on the back of the buildings, meaning the East Depot might be closest (but not necessarily very close - some of the Parterre Place rooms can be a bit of a walk over to the East stop).

I think I'd suggest trying to get a garden view room in Oak Manor or Parterre Place, close to the bridge which leads over to the main building/South Depot (see the map in the first post). Add a request to be as close as possible to the bridge, and on the ground floor (are there any medical reasons for the request, or is it just a preference?).

My sister has problems with her back on and off. She feels more secure if she can sit on a bus, and is happy if we don't have a huge hike to the bus stop to begin with.

All the preferred rooms are in AB, my DD wanted to stay in the mansions instead of preferred which we had booked so I had to switch to an enchanted room. If you have a lot of trouble with walking maybe you should think about switching to POFQ which is so much smaller. We took the PQFQ bus a few times and my DD thought the resort was so cute and wanted to stay there the next time.

Agree fully. If the last thing you want after a day in the parks is a hike back to your room, pay for preferred or stay at POFQ. POR is really big!

We just got back from our first disney trip, staying in AB bldg 26. We could not have asked for a better location. It literally took us about 5 minutes to get to the main bldg, we had 2 girls ages 6 and 4 and no stroller. I do know that when we come again next year I will be renting a stroller from an off site rental agency. As for the buses we would get on at the South depot, but when returning from the parks we would get off at the west. West was actually closer to our room but found that if we wanted a seat on the bus we would have to get on at the south depot.

There was no bounce back offer in the room but we were able to book one after asking about it at the front desk. The front desk actually gave us a bounce back for AKL but upon calling the number listed I was able to book it for POR riverside. We cannot wait to go back again next year at this time. pixiedust::banana:

Hahaha. My kids are 7 and 4. We rented a single stroller for the 4yo but halfway through the week we called Orlando Strollers and swapped for a double! My 7yo is very athletic (she's into competitive swimming) but that heat wipes her out! She was just done by day 4 out of 8! :)

We're going with our DD7 in December - so you'd recommend having a stroller? We have been going back and forth about taking our umbrella stroller with us, but weren't sure if we would use it.
