Hi everyone :wave2:,

We are super excited to try out POR with a Royal Room in April! We are celebrating my birthday and we are DVC members. My hubby picked BLT for April and we wanted to add a few nights so with a house full of Boys, I picked the royal room so I could have some Princess Time! Usually its all pirates all the time :sad2:

My sons will be 3 and 6 months (thats right my younger one will be born next month and we already are planning his first trip!) And we would love to take them to T-Rex the first night, does anyone know where the boat drops off in DTD? Is it close to T-Rex????

The water taxi drops off at the Marketplace right by RFC. You have to walk around to T-Rex; it is about a ten minute walk if it is busy.

Yeah we always have reservations at t-rex the first day we get there also. It is maybe ten mins as you said from dock to dinner!

Are there tables outside near the food court to eat outside at?

Yes, but not a very large area.

That is too funny.

I get there the Saturday after Thanksgiving around 11:00 am and tell the CM I will wait for my room. I never do the parks that day because they are still busy.

My favorite every year is to take the water taxi down to DTD, and sit in the bar at RFC and watch a college football game. I have the Bamba Wrap and drink wine all afternoon until I feel like going back to the resort.. and unpack!

We are all creatures of habit.;)

Thanks and thanks for the picture!!!! This is such a nice and helpful forum! We are hoping to try POR for our first family vacation- just the three of us. Last year the grandparents treated us but this time around we will be paying and it will just be our little family! I am recovering from a bad fall which meant I was in lots of pain when we went to Disney and I need to look forward to a trip without pain while my DS is still at the magical Disney age. He is going to love that water wheel! I am hoping for a room only discount for May and am keeping my eyes glued on discount threads! I wonder if it's possible to get a room only discount without booking a package. I hope this works out for us! My DS needs breaks from crazy crowds and although I like the price of the values I just don't think they will work for our family. Thank you everyone!

I don't know why this is bugging me, but I can't for the life of me figure out what "RFC" would be....

So sorry!!!

Is it necessary to pay for preferred to be close to food court, pool and bus stop? And all preferred are in AB even if you have a party of 3, correct? It is important we are close to everything to cut down on excessive walking( due to an injury). We will go first of May, if that matters.

All the preferred rooms are in AB, my DD wanted to stay in the mansions instead of preferred which we had booked so I had to switch to an enchanted room. If you have a lot of trouble with walking maybe you should think about switching to POFQ which is so much smaller. We took the PQFQ bus a few times and my DD thought the resort was so cute and wanted to stay there the next time.
