Yes, they will see your booking requests when they bring up your online checkin details in order to assign you a room number and print out your welcome pack, but that is usually only done a few hours before you arrive.

Requests which need any sort of pre-allocation blocking are looked at several days earlier (and at that point it makes no difference at all whether you have done online checkin or not) and that may or may not result in a specific room being allocated. The downside of giving you a specific room number at that point is that if it's not ready when you arrive at the desk, you'll have to wait for it to be cleaned, when there may be other perfectly good rooms sitting empty and ready that you could move straight into.

If you send a fax a few days before arrival it does reinforce your message, and you can add that personal touch which may help them understand your wishes better - and as it costs nothing, I'd say go ahead and send one anyway.

I just saw on another thread that the love bugs have arrived. Does anyone know how bad they are?

Thank you for the clarification on how it all works. Will do!

1. Just have a few questions. If we request an Alligator Bayou room, does that mean that the room will have the new murphy type bed guaranteed.?

2. Also, our fight in is very late, we prob wont get to POR much before midnight, possibly later. Can we get anything to eat that late at night, or should we grab a bite to eat at the airport. We will be using ME, so no way to stop anywhere!

1. Yes, all the Alligator Bayou rooms have been refurbished, which means they have the Murphy beds.

2. I believe the food courts close at midnight, so definitely get something to eat at the airport.

Stayed at POR from 8/31 - 9/8. Faxed my requests on Monday after 4:30 PM for Friday check in. I booked Standard and requested bldg 16 1st floor. I didn't not do online check in. The CM checking us in said they received my fax but unfortunately bldg 16 was full. They did however have a 1st floor room in bldg 18, a free upgrade to Preferred. It was room 1815. It was very close to the food court, bus stop and the bldg 15 parking lot (we use our car a lot).

The last time I got what I requested or better was about 7 years ago at Pop Century which was also the last time I faxed my requests, hmmmm.

Ill take either one of those haha

As a person who did that last trip, yes, you will end up with more KTTW cards than you know what to do with. :rotfl: Seriously, though, you will have three sets: (1) the keys to your room only check-in, (2) the ones that have your park passes that you pick up at Guest Relations, and then (3) the last (and only) ones you will need are the package ones that include your room key and park passes when you check in for your 2nd reservation for FD.

Hope this helps and have a great day!!!!

Thank you! That's exactly what I needed to know, I think. I'll just keep each one and scan them all as needed ;) I get the first one that serves soley as my room key that first night.......and I get the last one that has my room, FD, and park passes.....but the middle KTTW.....but the KTTW I pick up at Guest Relations still have me confused :confused3 I go to Guest Relations on my first day to add on an extra day (actually an early day so we can go to the park on the day that wasn't included in our package)...They will give me basically just a ONE day pass? That works for me if that's how it works. I thought maybe they could just add on a day to my package deal but maybe it doesn't work that way? I'm sorry to be so slow......I'm on a lot of cold meds right now

Help with requests, First time at POR! We requested AB Bldg 16 garden view (5 in our group) with our origional free dining booking. After looking at google maps we may want to switch. We will not be using the food court much as we eat in the parks or other resorts for our dining. When we are at the resorts we really want the Resort feel so Parking lots are not our idea of fun. We also have older kids so the main pool, esp in December, will not be a must but we do love the quiet pools so want to be right next to one of those. I did notice that the main bus stop crosses a access road/ parking area. Should we keep our request of bldg 16 or switch request to bldg 24 or 25? Help with personal experience.

We really want to be close to a bus stop ( I do plan on faxing) as DH is having total knee replacement October 1. He is a very fit person, only 47, and works manual labor. He is expected to be released from Dr just before our trip and he plans to use Disney as part of his rehab, getting use to walking pn concrete as much as his job since he will return to work the week we return from Disney. We will be there 14 nights so resort placement is real important for us. Thanks for the help

I can't find the sample fax form. Dang it. I had it saved, I thought. Anyone know the thread # so I can go back and get it?

I apologize if this info is hidden in this huge thread, :) but are their photos of the new rooms in Alligator Bayou.

Thanks, I found the Royal Rooms and the other Mansion rooms but not AB.

You know, I keep looking at the POR map to see what building to request, but in the end, I just requested an Alligator Bayou room. All the buildings have their pro's and con's. Some are close to bus stops, some by the pools and some by the main building. At some point we will find ourselfs walking somewhere. I know when you look at the map, the scale is really off though. When walking around Port Orleans, it seems like it is just a long maze, and really disorienting. As long as you dont get lost, the walks are really not that bad :thumbsup2. We love to hike though ! :rotfl2:
We will leave it up to lady luck when we check in...........at 12-1 AM !!!:scared: Hope its not too dark!

Hello, and good day to you and your staff!

On February 11th, my Family and I will be spending our annual vacation in Walt Disney World at your Port Orleans Riverside resort. We are all looking forward to this trip from February 11th-19th with much excitement. We would be most grateful if you could possibly accommodate a room request for either “building 14 or 18” in the Alligator Bayou area? I have also paid extra for a “river view”. The reason I have this request is that one of us in our group has had heart surgery in the past year and they are under medical restriction to not have to walk long distances. I have a standing doctor order for them to follow this while on vacation.

We will be arriving at your resort in just a few days, and would greatly appreciate any assistance you can provide in making our wonderful vacation more enjoyable and magical.
I have already called the 1-407-934-6000, number and they said they put in a request for this building and room requests.

Sincerely,
John and Jane Doe

I am so excited, my husband and I's best friends just arrived at our house today! They are home (our city) on leave for a month and will be staying with us! The bonus to that is that they will be house sitting for us while we are at Disney World. For me that means no mail hold, no kennel, no asking myself 100 times if I set the security alarm when we left, and I have help with packing lol. Starting today, I have a whole month of FUN!!!!!!! So, with that said, let the packing begin! :yay::yay::yay:

He actually does take a break (for pictures and autographs) around 10 pm. We usually go to the 8:30 set and leave after getting pictures with Bob.

He also takes a picture of you with him on his camera then posts them on his website so you are able to go there and download your photo after you get home. :)
