Neither RR mansion is terribly far from the bridge to the main buildings. The only rooms that will be a little farther are the ones in Parterre closest to French Quarter. Even then, it's not a huge haul, very manageable. Relax, enjoy the scenery and walk along the river, your trip will go by too fast.

Too right I did! I thought that Le Cellier was no longer such an issue (due to two dining plan credits) so with all the hassle of getting Be Our Guest booked, I left Le Cellier until I got home from our trip (about 175 days out by the time I checked).... and it's sold out for Lunch + Dinner every single day of our Feb trip. :(

Andre

I spoke with someone in the dining admin and Le Cellar has not released there month of Feb or March for reservations as of yet. But we got our BOG Ressie already done for the first day of MK for the family!

-------------------

Ohh and the RR rooms they are maybe a 2-3 minute walk to the main building across the bridge and then your there.

We had a marvelous trip, and even experienced a little pixie dust of our own. On Wednesday afternoon, we were at the Magic Kingdom, and getting ready to head to the Grand Floridian for our dinner at 1900 Park Fair.
We decided to watch the Flag Retreat, and were talking to one of the cast members on crowd control in the meet and greet circle by the flag pole.
While we were talking, one of the organizers for the flag retreat, came up and asked if I was the veteran of the day that had been selected. I told him that I had not been selected this time, and he walked away. The person they had selected was a no show, and they asked me if I would be willing to fill in.
Of course I was thrilled to do it.

webstah - this is so cool! As the only non-military member of my family (I stayed home to take care of my ailing grandmother instead of attending Annapolis), I appreciate your service and thank you!!! What a super-magica moment! :D

Venom - so Le Cellier isn't necessarily available at the 180 day mark? Not that I can make my ressies until May, but I like to be prepared. It seems like it will be frustrating, but I'll make do. (I am still trying to convince my "older" family that the princess breakfast rocks and we need to do that again - for the 5th time!!!!).

Thanks!

One of the other highlights to our trip was also at MK. My wife wanted some kind of silly picture of me, so I agreed to try pulling the sword out of the stone. There was a little girl in front of me, around 4 or 5 years old, who started pulling the sword. She didn't notice when it kept going up, and neither did her mother. I quickly called to her to keep going, that she was pulling the sword out, and alerted the mother as well. The little girl grabbed hold again, and her mother got a special priceless picture to remember a special time.

I have a picture of my then 12 year old son trying to pull out the sword.....I had NO idea it could be pulled up!

ANDRE: should I just fax my room request three days prior?

Yes. Make sure it's on your original booking too (phone the reservations center to do that) and then fax a confirmation to the resort around 3-5 days out.

Now I am freaking out thinking that I made a huge mistake since it looks like the RR are all pretty far out from the main pool and dining. What would be my best option as far as a building or room request that would help cut down on some walking? We also only booked a standard view so I assume that will make our walk time even worse.

Put in a request for Oak Manor and to be as close as possible to the main facilities building. However the very furthest possible room is no more than 500 yards from the food court (and much less to a swimming pool) and thus an absolute max of about 6-8 minutes walk. Please, stop stressing, you'll be fine.

Interesting, they should be selling March by now, and Feb about a month ago, I wonder what's going on?

I wonder if they are planning some sort of event for Epcot? They did that for CP packages.....are any of the other Epcot resorts holding off their reservations for that time? You don't think they are going to be rehabbing Le Cellier?

Yeah they said that that Le Cellier hasn't released the months of Feb or March as of yet. They anticipate that they will open up any day now. But that is all the ADRCM stated. I spoke to Le Cellier Directly on the phone today and they have no information to share other than it should be released with in the next few weeks but she wouldn't get to specific with me.

Andre, what is the Alligator Bayou building that you can see over the river from Ol Man Island?

I dont know about the other, but there is no rehabs scheduled on Le Cellier.

I've booked Le Cellier 3 times at 180 days.

2009 (actually in 2009 it was 90 days), 2010, and 2012.

I find right on the 180 day mark @ 6:00 am tables are scarce due to the 180 + 10 rule. I generally try to book it at the 185 day mark or so.

As for refurbs, I haven't heard of anything like that either. The only thing I know is that it is becoming 2 TS for both lunch and dinner in 2013. I wonder if the computer system needs to be upgraded to reserve these tables as 2 credits. I know currently only dinner is 2.

Yeah I have been trying since 190 days out, no luck. But the CM did say this,"It is not booked out! It is just that Le Cellier Has not released the days yet." So its not that it is booked up. More than one CM says that no one has gotten a Res for it for the month of March for sure!

Which I would think increases your odds of getting a table.

At 180 days people will book all there ADR's. If LC is not available they will simply grind their teeth, grunt and book something else.
Once they do release the tables at 150 days out, it's not on people's mind to book. And as long as you are determined (trying daily) you should have no problem once they are released.

Or, like me... you can make your own Le Cellier Mushroom Filet at home...

Now now, this is a POR Thread. Not your personal Le Cellier thread lol. But yeah I agree with you. I was just curious to see what they were telling other 180dayish guest.

Only occasionally, someone will get a little pixie dust and the sword pulls out a little. It raises up about a foot or so, then stops.
