Just to clarify on the elevators; Alligator Bayou doesn't have elevators, Magnolia Bend does.

DS (7) participated in the Bayou Pirate Cruise on Thursday, and he really liked it. The kids catch a river boat at 9:30 and travel up and down the Sassagoula River for nearly 2 hours collecting clues for finding the treasure. They make stops at POFQ, OKW, and Downtown Disney. They return to POR to find and open the treasure chest.
Each pirate gets a pirate bandana, sword and eye patch. They also get a share of the plunder from the treasure chest. They also provide the kids with a life best and a bottle of water.
It was a full 2-hour activity, and all the kids seemed to be engaged and in character.

P.S. really enjoying our first stay at POR, and the Royal Rooms are quite nice.

65 more days!!! I am starting to get crazy excited. We have been waiting 7 months and it seems like an eternity!!

One morning I took the boat to DTD and we passed a pirate boat. All the kids yelled "ARRGGHH" at the top of their lungs and shook their swords at us. It was really funny.

Does a parent go with them?

We are staying at POR for the first time in September. It is myself, DH, and dd7. We are also traveling with friends (2 adults and dd7 also). We have booked a water view room, and plan on requesting the Magnolia building and adjacent rooms. What other Room requests would be good / helpful?

Thanks!

The pirate cruise is about $30 per child and parents do not accompany them. There are crew members on board to supervise the kids. I'm so glad to hear a good report, I know my kids will have a lot of fun next month.

Yes I'm thinking this sounds awesome! I am going to see about booking my 2 little ones on it and then me and my oldest will find something fun to do for 2 hours. Maybe rent a boat or go to Disney Quest.

LOL, you could rent a boat and then give chase to the pirates! :)

Thanks for sharing! I am thinking my two oldest would love this and it will give us downtime with the toddler.
