Question, will POR accept something if I have it shipped there? I feel like it used to be done at least at other resorts, but they may not do it now. It would be a photobook. I am in canada and I know it won't get here in time.
Will POR hold it for me?

I would bring a shoe caddy to hang over the door to the bathroom and give everyone their own row....

I have done POR mansions with three friends the last couple of years and it was great for keeping organized.

Would give you some extra storage space.

Thank you! That is a great idea. How many hangers are provided I wonder? Maybe my dh and I can plan on hanging a lot and giving each dd a drawer. We are so confused about this trip . We have don't love overly themed rooms (alligator trundle bed is as far as I would like to go), I am not a huge fan of fold up furniture (the day bed and trundles are ok, just don't like the value ones) so we are down to Por 5 person, ft wilderness cabin or offsite for our price range.. It is a hard choice. Dh and I are always drawn to staying onsite, it just feels more disney, more special in a way?

There is a sticky at the top of the board called "shipping to your resort." There are very specific directions on how to ship and what method of shipping.

I am pretty sure there are about six or so.

We each took one for a special outfit and to hang bathing suits that didn't fit on the shower curtain rod.

We hung our jackets/hoodies on the pegs on the hat rack and placed our shoes under the bench. We put our backpacks on top of the bench.

Two of us each shared a sink.

The only thing we found was a shortage of outlets and I am so glad I thought of it before I left - I brought a surge protector and we put it on the table with the two chairs.

Four women; four cell phone chargers (back when they were all different); two battery chargers for cameras; lens cleaning equipment, etc. We would have run out of outlets very, very quickly had it not been for that.

Yeah it was fun, I may venture into other future refurbs at hotels and try to sneak more pics. We love to hotel hop and browse them. But always interested in doing fellow DISers favors.

Just curious...

There will be 5 of us staying at POR with the murphy bed. Question...looked at the pics and couldn't see any dressers? Does the murphy bed replace the dresser? Yikes, that's a long time (2 weeks) living out of ones suitcase!

I don't know the ages of your children but one tip I found here on the Disboards a few years back is....to put each childs daily outfit into a gallon -sized zip lock bag. That way in the morning all they have to do is pull out a big baggie. I put socks/shorts/shirt and undies in 1 bag...hair bows too for my dd. It made it so much easier to be organized and stay co-ordinated. If your kids are still young ...under10 ,or so this works perfectly.

Also ...only pack 1/2 of what you need....use the washer onsite while swimming in the afternoon or evening.

Hope this helps with the lack of drawer space !

So relieved to read this as reviews for this restaurant are all over the place, especially on the restaurant board. Anyone else had a recent experience with the restaurant?

We stayed at POR from June 2-9 and one of our ADR was at the Boatwright. My husband and I loved the food especially the crawfish bites app. My 3 kiddos liked there food too and have already told me that we have to eat here on our next trip. The pecan pie was fabulous!!!!

I was wondering if anyone on here has had any experiences with the Pirate Cruise lately. I have two DD's (4 and 7), and my 4 year old loves pirates (Specifically Jake and the neverland Pirates). Would this cruise appeal to them, and what was the response of your kids (girls) following the cruise. Thanks for your help. Cheers.

So relieved to read this as reviews for this restaurant are all over the place, especially on the restaurant board. Anyone else had a recent experience with the restaurant?

We went back in January and liked this restaurant. DH and I both had the tenderloin medallions and they were fantastic. The kids meals were just okay. The kids had chicken nuggets and pizza, both seemed to basically meet the quality of the food next door at the quick service counter. Had we been paying OOP this would have really annoyed me.

Rooms look awesome, but I don't want to have to walk forever to get to the food court and bus transportation.

Unfortunately, sometimes the "special" rooms tend to be the most remote rooms, understandably making them more appealing.

Oak Manor is close to the bridge over to the food court, while Parterre Place can have some of the most remote rooms in the entire complex.

However, they do have a bus loop.

To guarantee that you will be as close as possible to the foot bridge over the main building, you should book a riverview room if you can. I was in Parterre Place two years ago in a riverview room and was a stone's throw to the foot bridge that leads to the front of the main building. Oak Manor is closer to the foot bridge that leads to the Food court side of the main building.

A standard view would get you at the back of the building, farthest away.

We are staying at POR for the first time for the WDW Marathon in January. We have only stayed at WL on prior trips. We hadn't planned on being back to WDW so soon but I got the crazy idea that I would just keep training after the Disneyland 1/2 for the full marathon, so now we're going, but WL is out of the budget for this trip.

Currently we are booked in a Royal Room - Water View, that is not the same as a river view, correct? I am really excited to be staying in the new room - from the pictures it looks wonderful, plus the queen beds are a necessity. Would there be any building or area we should request to try to be central to the main building/bus stop?

Can't wait to go back to WDW and so looking forward to trying something new this trip!!!

Water view could be a far away view of the river; a view of a pool or a view of the fountain.

That's great! We will be in a Royal Room--River View in September for the Halloween Party. Haven't stayed at POR in ages. We usually pick POFQ for the size, so this will be sort of a "new" hotel for us. I think it was still Dixie Landings when we were last there, lol. I have my giant refillable mug from that trip that I adore!

Thanks for everyone's comments. I called Port Orleans and the lady at the desk made it seem like it's not very far to the main building from Oak Manor and Parterre Place. A river view is over budget, so I'm still debating. Assuming I'm in the most remote Royal room, can you still make the walk to the main building in 10-12 minutes?
