Is there a set route for buses inside POR? Do they make a cirlce starting at a certain depot first all of the time, or does it change?

Thanks!

Have they changed out the coffee makers? I heard that they were pod type like keurig or is this just a rumor?

They have the Cuisinart dual-cup ‘pod’ coffee machines. FYI, I will still take own coffee maker and coffee because I like strong coffee and the pod ones are pretty weak imo.

I accidentally posted this in another thread, meaning to post it here, so if it looks familiar, don't point and laugh at me. :rotfl:

Ahem: For POR, is there a map overlay somewhere that shows which rooms in each bldg. are connecting, their numbers, or their views. Just curious.

This picture from Pop Century is an example of what I mean: http://www.disboards.com/showpost.ph...postcount=1162

Anyone have a picture of these or the pods they take? Are all pods standard? (I have a Keurig, so I'm clueless here.) I refuse to drink Nescafe, so I'm trying to come prepared. I don't really want a Garden Grocer order, I'd like to bring it with me.

The river view rooms (in buildings 14 and 27) are classed as RIVER view bookings, rather than Preferred Location bookings like the rest of those buildings.

You could try asking for a "corner river view" (for want of a better description) in buidling 18. These are not classed as River View, but they do have a second window which faces toward the river.

Andre

Thanks so much for taking the time to answer my question Andre.

I hope Disney doesn't steal your description of "corner river view" and add another booking option at Riverside.:rotfl: I think there are 8 or 10 choices to book from now.

We haven't stayed at POR since 2009 I think there were only 2 or 3 classifications to book from at the time. Looking forward to trying out the AB section this time. It is such a lovely resort.

The best way I can explain them is they look like tea-bags :confused3 Google images should show some examples.

Are you flying or driving to WDW?

Flying. It would be a looooooong drive from Seattle, lol. We don't rent a car either. Don't need another expense at Disney, Orlando gets enough of my money as it is, lol!

Too bad - I was gonna say if driving, pack your Keurig!! I drive so I take all my coffee making stuff from home .... i need to guarantee a coffee I enjoy in the mornings :teeth:

Yep. Looks like round tea bag. The coffee isn't Nescafé either :p it's Cusinart.
IMO was better. Then Nescafé

Definitely better than Nescafe and it tastes like fresh coffee .... just a bit too weak for me.

the pods are like teabags but with coffee instead of tea. They are the most disgusting gross tasting coffee. I just might pack my own coffee maker because even though the food court coffee is better than the pod coffee its still not the greatest.

If you can still brew hot water through it, I will definitely be bringing my Starbucks VIA to have a nice strong cup of coffee in the morning! I like Dunkin Donuts at home, but these are really good too! VIA are those instant packets that you just mix with hot water, you should try them before the trip to see if you like them instead of lugging down the whole coffee maker! :)

I think these may be it? I have a Hamilton Beach coffee maker that makes a full pot of coffee on one side and a travel mug/regular mug cup on the side. We like it because hubby can make a full pot of his plain coffee and I can make a lovely hazelnut or other flavor coffee on my side. I'm pretty sure these are similar systems only this coffee maker has two of the mechanisms as opposed to mine only have one. It does tend to be a weaker coffee but you could always put in less water to make it stronger.....it's okay for us and the room coffee is just to hold us over until we can walk to the food court to fill up our resort mug :cool1:

Hey Andre, Do you still need a VR 360 panoramic shot of a royal room? I can still do one on our next trip. Just let me know.

Andre, would this also be a King room? This request should be made around 5 days in advance and confirmed when we arrive, yes? We paid for a King room so I wasn't sure if any of this contradicted each other or not. Thank you for all your knowledge!

If you paid for a King Room, that's what you should get. That 'trumps' all other categories so technically you could get anything from a car-park view to a River View in a preferred building. Just put in your requests in to Disney well in advance, and then follow up with a fax 3-5 days before you arrive if you wish, and keep your fingers crossed! There's a page on my site giving info on making room requests: http://www.portorleans.org/room-requests.php

Is there a set route for buses inside POR? Do they make a cirlce starting at a certain depot first all of the time, or does it change?

Most often it is South, West, North and then East. Sometimes with a stop at POPQ first, and sometimes (especially before 10.30am) the South depot buses will leave directly for the parks while another bus will serve the West/North/East depots. But it can and does vary (they have a GPS/computer based tracking and routing system which can vary the route) so there are no guarantees.

Sadly no, nothing guest-accessible. I do have a basic room number plan (the mansion buildings plan can be found online at http://www.portorleans.org/magnolia-bend.php) but nothing saying which rooms are connecting/etc. Since you can't request any specific room numbers though, it's a kind of an academic point anyway.

Thanks, but I'll be back at POR in a few weeks myself (it's been far too long!) and I plan to do a load of photography of the new rooms, lobby, etc. Any new pics are always welcome though!

Andre
