Andre, (or anyone) I know you'd know the answer to this one: What is the absolute closest room to the Riverside Mill in the AB section, preferred location 14??? I

River View 1409 and 1410 are the absolute closest (1409 is a corner room, but the extra window overlooks a stairway) but anything in 1409-1416 is very close.

We just got back from POR tonight. We were in AB Building 24, room 2405, facing the end of parking lot, about as far as you can get from the food court. I timed the walk, and it only took 6 minutes. It was VERY convenient to the west bus stop.

Is the west bus stop still the first pick-up for most of the parks? We were in building 25 one time and we LOVED being by that bus stop.

It was for most of the parks. It was especially nice for the Magic kingdom bus, first on, first off.
We didn't go to Animal Kingdom from the resort, or downtown Disney, except by boat, so I can't speak for those two. but Epcot, DHS, and Magic Kingdom we got on empty buses. (except for the people that loaded before us).

I booked all of our dining reservations this morning for our March 2013 POR trip! So excited! It's our first Disney trip so I wasn't sure what times I should be choosing for dinner to allow an afternoon rest, travel time, etc. We will give this trip a whirl and then I can adjust for the many future trips ahead. (I'm a bit addicted and we haven't even gone yet! :hyper:)

Hello! We're considering a POR or POFQ trip in April 2013. Just based on theming, I think I'd prefer POR, but the 2nd half of our travel party is interested in POFQ. Can anyone talk a bit about the walking distance between these 2 resorts? For example, we've recently had a few stays on the Epcot resort loop. Is walking from POFQ to POR like walking from, say BC to Dolphin? Or more like BC to DHS?

TIA! :flower3:

Not knowing the ages of your party, I can only tell you that we stayed in POR building 24, about as far from French Quarter as you can get.
It took my wife and I 6 minutes to walk to the POR main building, and less than 10 minutes to walk from there to the French Quarter main building.
As an FYI, I am 53 years old, and slightly overweight, so we walked at a fairly normal pace.

You are awesome as always, Andre. We were in Magnolia Terrace back in 2010 and I thought it was quite the walk. I am so willing to pay preferred to be close!!! Thanks again!!! :beach:

We had a marvelous trip, and even experienced a little pixie dust of our own. On Wednesday afternoon, we were at the Magic Kingdom, and getting ready to head to the Grand Floridian for our dinner at 1900 Park Fair.
We decided to watch the Flag Retreat, and were talking to one of the cast members on crowd control in the meet and greet circle by the flag pole.
While we were talking, one of the organizers for the flag retreat, came up and asked if I was the veteran of the day that had been selected. I told him that I had not been selected this time, and he walked away. The person they had selected was a no show, and they asked me if I would be willing to fill in.
Of course I was thrilled to do it.

Did anyone else booking for 180days out from now run into issues booking for Le Cellar in Epcot?

Goosebump moment! Thank you for serving our country!!!

Our stay at POR has come to an end. We had a great stay. Loved the King corner room next to the quite pool in building 25 in AB. We like having the laundry room near by so we got everything washed up and packed last night. It was great having the west bus stop near after having tired legs from walking in the parks all day. We liked everything, no complaints. We didn't get lotion left in the room like at CSR. Did the stop providing lotion? Loved the feel of being out in a real bayou. Didn't see any parking lots going to and from the main building and our room. The CM's we nice and helpful. Loved the general store. We would stay here again and recommend it.

Wonderful. Thank you for your service! :)

Running into snags with online check-in...says I haven't entered an email address. I'm not a computer idiot. anyone else experiencing issues? Also, I can't, for the life of me, figure out how to add a room request! There just isn't anywhere to type.

ANDRE: should I just fax my room request three days prior?

THANKS everybody! 10 days and I'll be at POR in a royal room! :thumbsup2

Online check-in: It's #6 "Confirm or add special requests". Just type your request in the Room Request box. :)

Online check-in update: I just tried on my laptop and realized what you meant - it did't allow me to type anything either. I didn't have any trouble doing it on my desktop though. Hmm?

Just decided to take the plunge and ungraded from a preferred room at AsMo to a RR at Riverside. I think my DD7 will love it. Now I am freaking out thinking that I made a huge mistake since it looks like the RR are all pretty far out from the main pool and dining. What would be my best option as far as a building or room request that would help cut down on some walking? We also only booked a standard view so I assume that will make our walk time even worse. Thrilled to surprise her with the room but nervous that I will end up regretting the switch.

I think those are in buildings 95 (Parterre Place) and 90 (Oak Manor).....and those are the two groups right by the bridge over to the food court!

Too right I did! I thought that Le Cellier was no longer such an issue (due to two dining plan credits) so with all the hassle of getting Be Our Guest booked, I left Le Cellier until I got home from our trip (about 175 days out by the time I checked).... and it's sold out for Lunch + Dinner every single day of our Feb trip. :(

We have the same concerns as well, and after some research and advice from this thread we booked a river view RR, and requested Oak Manor. It's suppose to be less than 5 minute walk to the main building, and around the same for the pool. :thumbsup2 I'm hopeful the walking won't be too bad for my FIL; he refuses to get a scooter for the resorts, and usually just rents one when we get to the parks.
