What about getting the bags to the busstop the next day when it's time to leave?

Again, call Bell Services, they'll pick your bags up from your room and have them ready waiting for you at the bus pickup point outside the main building.

Andre

Thanks Andre. Hopefully the wait for Bell services won't be a huge bother. I called and they couldn't get me in connecting rooms for Preferred or River View just Standard or Garden View.:confused3 (and yes I know it's not completely guaranteed but they book it as "guaranteed" for families, whatever that means...and could only do it for Standard/Garden, not sure if it's just for my date or if it's always that way.) Oh well, still looking forward to checking this resort out. :)

The best travel accessory ever are laundry sheets. They have detergent and fabric softener in them, you just drop it in with the wash and transfer it to the dryer with the clothes. Best yet, no powder or liquid to burst in your bag and make a huge mess. I keep a box in my laundry cupboard with my regular laundry detergent and whenever we go on a trip I take a couple and put them in a ziplock bag, so they're also flat and take up almost no space at all.

Yes! I used these on my last trip. They are by Purex. In addition to being convenient for laundry, they also kept my clothes smelling nice in my suitcase on the way there :thumbsup2

Thanks guys....while she is still quite warm this morning she is alot perkier. Thank God for rotating tylenol & advil. We are going to EPCOT for a low key day. Just gonna stroll around with her in the stroller.

We are thinking of skipping animal kingdom tomorrow depending on how she's feeling.

I am so sorry  I hope she bounces back!

Aw, hunmcbunny, that really stinks that your little one is feeling poorly. We've been there too, unfortunately. Poor DD threw up in the lobby of one of the AllStar resorts (and it was at a time when they had characters come to the resorts - that morning it was Alice in Wonderland and her crew), then she threw up at around midnight all over the floor of our room. It was horrendous, but mousekeeping came up instantly and cleaned it all up without blinking an eye. Love them! Hope your DD bounces back quickly so she can enjoy the rest of your trip!!!

Well, the other day we switched our December RGR reservation to Little Mermaid rooms at Art of Animation it was announced they'd open in September. My 6yo Ariel-loving niece really up when I asked her if she wanted to switch. Ariel is her princess. Maybe when she's a little older she'll appreciate the subtle luxury of the Royal Rooms more.

Hey, we'll be there the exact time but we're checking out a few days earlier than you b/c we're also doing the disney cruise. This is our first stay at POR also.

See ya around, probably in line to check in or waiting for a bus. :thumbsup2

Oh yeah, DH is very excited about our first stay at POR!! :thumbsup2

I've just uploaded the RGR photos that were sent to me by joannalh to portorleans.org, and I also found that bunkkinsmom (Emily) had kindly FTPd me a batch of Alligator Bayou detail images too, but she hadn't let me know they were there! I've not heard anything of her for a month, I hope she's OK...

Hi, Sorry if I missed it, but has anyone stayed in the Royal rooms yet? I was looking for a review on them. Wondering if I should book two of those for our next stay. Thanks!

Yes, the last several pages contain reports about people staying in the rooms; they opened on the 9th.

Hi all! Just booked July 1-9 in a Royal Room(std.) and requested Parterre Bldg. Very excited. :goodvibes:goodvibes No discounts though:confused3:confused3 hope one comes through:goodvibes:goodvibes DH and DS17 are mixed--hope it's not too feminine for them. Really lookes like nice imagineering to me:wizard::wizard:

I decided to run screaming from the All Star Music resort since cheerleaders will be taking over the week I'm there.

I booked a basic garden view at POR. I would have loved to stay in one of the Royal rooms but decided to be good and save money this trip since I was supposed to be staying value. LOL

Now I'll be back to my favorite moderate resort.

So I am a newcomer to the threads. My DH, DS and I are hoping to stay at POR next year. (March 7 - March 15) Is this a good time or am I crazy?? I have been reading and reading everything on the boards. It is sooo much to consume!!! I am thinking the upgrade to moderate will be nice and not as noisy and crowded as the values. I am also really liking the idea of the boat to DTD. I believe we would be looking at a standard room in AB. Is their a section that is better than others? I would like to be local to everything, but quiet too.

Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

P.S. FD...is all it is cracked up to be?? Hoping I get the chance to have that for my time period :worship:

Just a quick synopsis of our stay. We got back home Sunday night from a fantastic stay at POR in the RGR.
The only real issue we had with the room is the new AC bench that they put over the unit. The baffles are NOT adjustable so they constantly blow towards the bed by the door and the person sleeping on that side of the bed suffers:sad2: I know because after just an hour DD(7) complained about it and that is where I slept during our stay. If you turned the air up then the room got to warm.
I also had to adjust the fridge when we got there, it was set at 3 and I had to move it close to 5 to keep everything nice and cold.

We caught most of the Bolt movie on the lawn, did a carriage ride one night and for the first time changed our last day from MK to resort/DTD day, which we will do from now on. We usually liked doing MK on our last full day, but it looks like we will be keeping it this way for awhile.

Also, I went over to Parterre and the 1st floor they were starting to install the toilets and tubs and on the 2nd floor they were past that and already had the walls painted and wallpaper boarder up.

Check the map found on Andre's site (in his signature). He also has a FAQ for "best section". It depends on your preferences. For example, are you interested in a quiet pool or the main pool? There are several pools.

As for central, I put together a walking distance chart that is on page 230 and can be found here...

We leave in two days!

Against my better judgment, I went ahead and checked-in online. The thought of skipping the check-in line or making the process quicker was the main draw. I made sure I reconfirmed my room request over the phone before checking in, and sent my fax request this morning. Hopefully it works!

If not, I'm sure every building has some perk. Before I sent my fax, I realized my main choice is close to the pool and lobby, but far from the parking lot (we have a car)! Closer to the parking lot...farther from the pool! Gotta make a sacrifice somewhere. This resort is very big...can't wait to see it in person!

Thought you might be interested in the April 2012 Recreation Activities and Movie Schedules. The outdoor movies will start at 8:30pm and the daily campfires commence at 7pm.

There will also be various special activities on Easter Sunday (8th April) such as Easter Egg/candy hunts, cake decorating, Disney character greetings and loads of games for the kids. More details and a full schedule will be posted on my Recreation Activities Schedule page once the timetable has been confirmed.

First off- we love POR! Can't wait to get back!!

Does anyone have experience ordering food from Boatrights as a take out/to go order? We are looking at taking a full day off from the parks tospend fishing, boating, and at the pool and would rather not take the time for a sit down meal.

We have gone to the food court when spending time at the resort, but would like to try Boatrights.

Any information about your experiences with this would be very helpful! TIA
