We got here yesterday without a hitch! We are in Magnolia Terrace & absolutely thrilled! We are on the 1st floor river front but in the front of the stairs but its totally fine.

Went to Hollywood studios but we werent thrilled with the place...maybe its because we were exhausted and it was kinda hot. We are heading to MK today.

Met Mouseluvenfamily yesterday very briefly

Allears.net has a new feature on POR activities with pics. Also, is the new Disney Junior channel on the the new resort tv channels list?

We have a RGR garden view for 4/4 - 4/9. I know it must be in Oak. Will on line check in really save me time?

How do you know it's Oak Manor and not Parterre?

We've never done online check in but hear it is faster because they have all your info. So just depends on lines.

Congrats! Love Magnolia Terrace, great location. I liked getting up early and taking my coffee to sit in the gazebo, while waiting for my daughter to get ready!

I thought about getting a cell phone but my land line is only $41 a month and I can call anywhere in CAN or US unlimited (most of my family lives out of town so this works out nicely). For the most part I'm either at home or at work. If someone needs to get ahold of me try one or the other if I'm not at either give me a 1/2 hour.

My DW has a blackberry and she love it. My DD has a pay as you go but it will not work at all in the US. Last year I bought two US TrackPhones for my DD and myself to use in DW. I charged them up and turned them on in Canada and now they won't work at all in Canada or the US.

I also have an iPod touch that I have on me at all times so if I can find a wifi hotspot I can use that to email, text, and to make calls. I'm not completely stuck in the last century I just don't really have a use for one.

I still have a land line too. With free Can/US calling. A life saver for me. Have lots of fam & friends in the US, and only using my cell phone would be hugely expensive.

Didn't know that if you turn on the Trackphones in Canada they don''t work, how fustrating. I was thinking about them.
But I usually just get the US texting plan for my IPhone while I'm in the US, and if I need to call someone I use hotel phone- with calling card.

For anyone that is there now or will be there soon, can you look and see what the price of a 1/2 gal milk is and if they carry 1%. Also, what's the going price for a 2 liter of pop there.

Trying to get my budget ready for the trip soon and what my OOP will be.

TIA!!!!

If you're there now, hope you are having a great time!!!!

We got our Mickey Mail today!! How exciting! Only 34 more days till we arrive at POR. I watched The Princess and the Frog yesterday for the first time yesterday and now I am even more excited to stay in "Tiana's room". :goodvibes

Phew... Finally read the entire thread. We'll be at POR (for the first time) Sept 8th to the 15th. It will just be DH and I and we've booked a king size bed. :wave2:

Hey, we'll be there the exact time but we're checking out a few days earlier than you b/c we're also doing the disney cruise. This is our first stay at POR also.

See ya around, probably in line to check in or waiting for a bus. :thumbsup2

So excited to be going to POR in August! First time staying there!
We booked a garden view room and want to be in the AB section. What building # should I request? Of course, all the ones I want are preferred locations. Traveling with our 3 kids, so want to be as close to pool and food court as possible. Thanks! Looking even more forward to POR after reading what you all have to say:)

tmerz - I always book 16 GV and love it's location(next to the quiet pool) and you are just as close to south and west bus plus 5min to FOOOOOOD! Enjoy!
