So I was reading a review on another site about the Royal Rooms. It had mentioned that the other Royal Mansion building would be completed "by June". Previously, everything that I had read stated they would be done in the middle of April.

We arrive the first week of May... what are the odds they are overbooked?? Would they put you elsewhere in POR and refund the difference?? I'm probably getting way ahead of myself anyway. Just wondering if anyone heard an update on Parterre Place. Thanks!

:cool1:I just book a return trip to POR!!!!:cool1: My Best friend has this crazy idea to celebrate our September birthdays at WDW. I knew it wouldn't be possible because my boys would have already started back to school and with the oldest starting high school, he couldn't take a few days off. Well my wonderful husband said "Why don't you just go and take our youngest with you?" I was shocked and so happy! We don't normal take big solo trips. I was also scared to drive 8 hrs with just the two of us.(We would be meeting my BF down there.) So the idea to take my niece, who has only been to the MK for one day at age 13, along with us came up. I have asked her to join us before & she always turns me down, but this time she said YES!:woohoo:
So the idea was to book a value for free QSD dining and upgrade to regular dining. By the time the sweet CM finished pricing and booking a stay at AS Movies, I asked what the difference would be to stay at POR and it was only $200 more. So I went for it! We had such a wonderful stay at POR in December! I can't wait to share this w/ my niece and celebrate my birthday with my BF!:cheer2:

Beautiful pictures and I love all of the details of the RGR. I can't wait to stay there in just 44 days! My granddaughter (and hopefully my grandsons too) will LOVE these rooms. Thanks for taking the time to take all of the lovely pictures.

Oops, most of them came out huge! Have deleted and will fix them...

LuvLuvLuv, I was just there last week and Parterre Place looked like it needed a lot of work still, but may is still a long way away. They were overbooked when I was there and I got bumped from a RGR garden view to a RGR standard view, and they refunded the difference.

Thanks for the pictures joannalh! Just gets me even more excited for our trip.

Soooo, was the new theme worth it? Did you love it?

We go next month and I am worried about this too but I think May will be less likely of overbooking!

Well, it was my first time at POR, so I can't compare the RGRs to any other rooms. But I really liked the room and so did the kids. They loved the fireworks on the bed especially. I booked it because I thought it would be fun as they were brand new, and also because I wanted to be sure of a refurbished room/Queen beds. I'm glad I did, but I don't know that I'd pay the extra to stay in one again vs. a regular room.

Glad you enjoyed them :) We've never been to POR and are really looking forward to the resort and new rooms

I am taking my parents with us to Disney and my mum disabled, and uses a motorised chair.

I asked the CM if my mum was able to take her chair onto the boat as it is something she really wants to do. The CM said yes, absolutely.

However, I was reading elsewhere that wheelchairs would have to be folded - obviously her motorised chair does not fold up. So will she or won't she be able to board the boat with her chair? Thanks :)

I saw someone board with a huge double stroller-as we were waiting for the boat I was wondering how on earth they'd get one, but then there was lots of space. So I think it should be fine.

Awesome! Thanks, I was really worried as we are looking forward to taking the boat :)

Just got home from our trip to POR. I have more photos, some of the items Andre was looking for, but its midnight and I have to be up and get kids up by 7am, so Im going to wait until after work tomorrow to post them.

It was a great trip and was soooo glad to be back there in March, the weather is just wonderful there in March. More later!

Arrived at POR yesterday and our DD's absolutely LOVES the RGR:) I video taped them opening the door and all the oohs and aahs, the "look at this" and "look at that" and the "wow's" and then the dreaded "can we live here" line:rotfl:I only put in one request, which was ground floor and we got it. My DW keeps laughing at me because I have tried to move the Tiana letter on the table out of the way a few times already. The funny part is, it is a permanent part of the table top:laughing: I still think POR is the best resort to just walk around, the landscaping, river, bridges and buildings are just so well done.

Hi everyone!

Only posted a couple of times before when i was in a panic thinking a main pool was going to be closed. Then realised i'd read the American Dates wrong :rolleyes1

We go June 6th - first time ever in a Disney Resort. I am the only one who has ever been to Florida before and that was back in 1980 when they were just starting to build Epcot, apparently!!

I am excited but nervous - so much information!

We have a Water view and the quick counter dining plan.

If we wanted to eat anywhere else outside POR we would have to book reservations wouldn't we?

The kids still don't know they are going. We are going to tell them when they get to the airport. My son thinks we are going to Bulgaria for some strange reason :goodvibes

Electric kettle I assume. That's what we use for making tea in our POR rooms anyway, we have one stashed away in our Owner's Locker.

We did try bringing a travel kettle, but they take ages to boil on the low USA mains voltage so we found it better to get a cheap domestic US one from WalMart.

Andre

Correct, an electric kettle, we had looked at a travel kettle as well but remembered the issues we had trying to get a hair dryer to work with the low voltage and figured a kettle would have the same issues.
