We got our Mickey Mail yesterday!:banana:

We are staying in a RGR waterview. I know for our dates that only Oak Manor will be completed. We have never stayed at POR before so I really know nothing about room locations. Should I make a more specific request or will this be enough? We aren't really pickey and don't have any special needs. We'd just like it to be easy to get to our room without getting lost! Also, is the view better and it quieter on the third floor?

For our only other trip, we were in a preferred location at ASMu so very close to pool and food court which was great.

Thanks for any advice--just not sure what to expect!

Hi,

We are a family of 5 checking in at POR on March 24 at around 9pm. We have reservations for a Garden View room. What are our chances of getting a refurbished room? How can I increase or chances?

Thank You,
Huff Family

The only way you can increase your chances is to call CRO and add it to your room reservation. Requests are just that; as the word gets out more and more about the refurbishment, more and more people are going to ask for it and the chances get slimmer - until the refurbishment is done.

Ok originally, we had reserved the RGR but dropped them for an upgrade in dining anyway, we have 4 rooms together, 2 rooms have 2ppl, 1 has 3 and 1 has 4, do they put us in AB? We really want a mansion but since OM and PP are RGR, are there any other mansion buildings?

Had to call to get more luggage tags after I did a test run on packing....dont ask lol

Thank god we are flying SW!

2 more days of work and then I am on my way to my RGR WV. So excited!!!!:cheer2::yay:

Take lots of pics from inside that room. Please lol. If there is anything that you don't like, or like the most feel free to report back on it.

Since AB is for a family of 5, it is quite likely you will get placed in the mansions.

You can request being in the mansions (Acadian House or Magnolia Bend) and link your reservations, so you will be close to each other.

We were in two connecting rooms in Acadian last year with refurbished rooms and it was heavenly.

ditto....cant wait to hear/see about the RGRs

You and me both; if I can snag a room discount on my next solo trip, I may have to treat myself like a princess.

I just love Oak Manor; it is one of my favorite buildings. I have stayed there three times close to the pool and loved it.

With the murphy bed, it would be tight and someone might get stepped on during the night. It would be a bit more doable in the mansions, without the murphy bed.

We had the pack n' play in the connecting room this past year, and the mousekeeper moved aside the table and chairs and it fit nicely. I would think you could do the same with a twin air mattress.

You can also lean it up against the wall in the dressing area during the day.

Yes, I was really wondering how it would fit in one of the Mansion rooms?

Kristie, you will be one excited basket case by the time you get there!

P.S.
They have washers and driers.

Hubster is a big guy who sweats alot and a princess who changes her clothes a gazillion times because as soon as there's a speck of dirt she has to completely change lol

The problem is not the clothes its the breakfast & snacky foods and juice boxes that weighing down the luggage. Princess has a sensory issue that causes her to be the most picky eater ever & that is also why she changes her clothes alot.

We are booked in a Garden View. We have 2 little ones (4 and 9 months)

Question: I want to order a few things from Amazon and have them shipped to POR. Can someone tell me how I should address the packages? Just my name? Or add my confirmation number somehow?

ETA:

Never mind - found it on the POR site....

Doesn't it matter which carrier service and whether or not the goods are perishables? I do not think FEDEX or UPS delivers to a PO Box.

You are correct; she cannot use the P.O. box, you must use the street address. The info is on the sticky above; good thing you caught that.

It is correct that the carrier matters as well; UPS and FedEX will deliver directly to the resort. USPS will deliver it to a central warehouse and it would have to be hunted down in order to locate it in time for you to arrive.

Also, the shippers will mark it "perishable" and they have refrigerators in Bell Services to those packages. Similar to deliveries from local grocery services, such as Garden Grocer, etc. They split the packages in perishables, and non-perishables and Bell Services takes care of it.

Incorrect; you need to use the street address; see the sticky at the top of the thread "shipping to your resort."

Also you will not know your room number ahead of time, so just use date of check-in.

If you are ordering perishables and want the courier to deliver directly to the resort, use the resort's street address rather than the PO Box one (i.e. 1251 Riverside Drive) and have the package marked as "perishable, please keep chilled". Bell Services have fridges.

I went ahead and posted to the OP: this poster was just pointing out that the OP had incorrect information regarding shipping.

I moved my trip up a week from Oct. 21st to Oct. 14th. I booked last January with a free QSDP PIN, RGR Garden View, request Oak Manor. Last year when I booked for Oct., I didn't realize that it was the same week as the Gartner Symposium and something else....so free DDP and room discounts were blacked out that week, and since I had already purchased airfare for 5 of us on Continental when the dates for extended FD were announced, it was too late to switch weeks. I'm happy with free QSDP and booking a couple of dinners OOP, but I called this morning to switch the week in hopes of extended free DDP during a non-blacked out week because the Gartner Symposium begins on the 21st this year.
