Thank you very much!!!
I'm bringing a toaster. I'm going to remove the coffee maker and put the toaster in it's place. We can have toast or english muffins for breakfast. We're driving so we don't have a problem with bringing it. Plus I just found a cheap one at the grocery store for $8.
Not to get off topic, but you may want to check out some threads on the Resorts board about this. Many people have stated that toasters and other small appliances (except coffee makers) are only permitted in DVC villas both for safety purposes, and courtesy purposes since rooms are in such close proximity - can you imagine setting off a smoke detector or smelling burnt toast through the wall! LOL. Anyway, just wanted to mention it so you can check those out and so you're breakfast plans don't unexpectedly get ruined!
Back on topic, I read about people bringing scent wall plug-ins just for a fresh scent and to mask the "moldy" smell that you sometimes can find in hotels. And for the women, I always turn the desk area into a vanity so I bring a travel size make-up mirror. This lets my family get at the sink area while I can be at the desk doing my make-up, drying my hair, etc. Comes in handy!
We stalled!
What kind of pop up hamper is good for also toting laundry to laundry facilities (with an easy to carry strap type thing)? I have one I took to BC, but it was NOT fun to drag it to the laundry room...
Sent from my iPad using DISBoards
We got lucky I found three wheel chairs one with busted / missing feet pedals and used it to carry the laundry there and back. It didn't have anyone's name on it and it was a POR complimentary wheelchair.
We are leaving for POFQ in one week! However, that list should be titled List of Everything You Should Bring if You Drive. There no way I could fit all that into a suitcase.I can't bring containers, over door organizers, room decorations, etc. I'm just trying to fit the basics in my suitcase. When we go to DLR, we drive and we bring all kinds of stuff like that including a coffee maker and coffee making supplies. We are at the mercy of the food court this trip.
However, I did realize I better bring some sort of mesh bag to carry laundry in to the laundry room. I suddenly had an image of me walking through the resort with an arm load of laundry, leaving a trail of underwear behind me.
I didn't think of dish soap but I am bringing a little bottle of liquid hand soap because I hate using sloppy bar soap. And for Christmas I got a compact power strip for travel so I'll bring that too.
Its more of a suggestion list so if you drive you can bring as much as you want, if you fly bring what you absolutely need and can pack.
More or less it is an idea thread.
Thought I would report back what we brought and used for our 13 night trip in June. This was our first trip to WDW. We flew so we only could bring one suitcase each and our carry on bags.
So the only thing we didn't bring which I was wishing we did was the small bottle of dish soap for washing the resort mug. I forgot that.
I brought a travel clothes line but didn't need it because the shower had one in it already.
Other things I brought that I used were a small bottle of hand soap (I don't like using bar soap to wash my hands), a mesh laundry bag with an over the shoulder strap, and a power strip.
We didn't bring and did not need cups, bowls, containers, or over the door racks or pockets.
There is a shelf under the sink area so we just put our bathroom things back in our bags and under the shelf. I certainly wouldn't want to leave my toothbrush out where the maid cleans and could knock it over or drop it who knows where.
There is a tray on the dresser and that is where we put our magic bands, water bottles, and resort mugs.
We packed our clothes using those travel "envelopes" you can get for your shirts, pants, etc. We just took them out of our suitcases and dropped them in to the drawers. We left them opened in the drawer so finding what we needed was easy.
When we were out for the day we put our tablets in the safe.
We brought granola bars in our suitcase and carry ons to eat for breakfast. We also bought a pack of bagels in the store and toasted them in the food court for breakfast a few days.
Actually, we pretty much brought what we would bring if we were driving to Disneyland. Except that we didn't bring a case of water, a laptop, and our pillows.
Just thought I would post what worked for us in case anyone else is flying and has to pack light.
