This is the Thread for suggestions for items you should consider bringing with you when you visit POR or POFQ and probably any of the Moderates because of the lack of storage and other necessities. Post a reply if you should feel another item to be added. But please keep them to serious suggestions for our future guests.

This is just a list of items outside what you normally take with you.

1. Pop up or hanging Laundry Basket.
2. Hanging closet organizer sometimes seen in Walmart or Target sometimes used to store towels, shoes etc on fabric shelves.
3. Power Strips, those little things we are slaves to need to be plugged in after a hard day at Disney World, so plug in a power strip and plug everything into one area. I usually carry two one to plug in behind the room phone and the other to plug in near the table.
4. 3 Prong Adapter for the power strips.
5. Your own laundry detergent and stain sticks as well as anything else for emergency situations.
6. Zip lock baggies (Various Sizes)
7. I usually take a Spare HDMI Cable with my computer or some type of video out adapter so in case the little one or ones want to watch a movie off the computer. Also we can look at some of the photos from the day.
8. Spare batteries for anything, AA AAA etc if you have items that may require it.
9. Plasticware (forks, knives, and spoons) or grab a bunch from Food Court
10. Nightlight for little ones or just someone that may need help seeing in the dark.
11. Some tiered hangers for shorts/pants and for wet bathing suits.
12. Clothes Pins to hang bathing suits in the Shower with.
13. A few 'chip clips'. They come in handy for keeping stubborn drapes closed, in addition to their usual use.
14. Liquid pump soap.
15. Beach Towels in case you want your own huge towel. (Resort ones don't wrap to well when you need to dry off.)
16. Lysol Wipes. We wipe down the door knobs, sink area, TV remotes etc.
17. An inexpensive digital thermometer
18. Safety pins
19. Insect repellent (wipes)
20. Purse-sized room deodorizer spray.
21. Garbage bags (Use them to line the drawers before putting our clothes in after I read the some people use the drawers for their dirty laundry - UGH! I then turn them inside out and line the luggage on the way home in case something spills)
22. Shoe organizers for shoes too (otherwise they are all over the floor)
23. Paper cups
24. Duct tape (for a myriad of uses)
25. Those little puck sized compressed facecloths that you pop into water and they expand. We find they come in handy for kids as they are easier for them to manage as they are thinner than the ones the hotel provides, and you can always throw a bunch in your park bag just in case)
26. A magnetic door hook that sticks to the door, and a door decoration of some sort helps our kids locate our door quickly among others - plus decorating is always fun, we fancy up our windows most trips too!
27. Hair clips also work well for stubborn drapes in a pinch.
28. Dish soap and bottle brush for the resort mugs.
29. Plug in or battery operated air fresheners (I like the ones that you can set for 15, 30, and 45 minutes that spray out of the top and fill the whole room.)
30. Vanity/Makeup Mirror for the women to do their Magic Prepping.
31. A small fridge thermometer, so you can make sure it stays as cold as you want in your fridge and your food doesnt go bad and the in the rare case if the fridge were to stop working, no reported cases of that yet!

Also; items that we have requested and received at resorts:
extra hangers, bed rails, a step stool.

Other items may be requested but not guaranteed: Toasters, microwaves, ...

A must at any resort: collapsible shelf closet organizer (we use 2) These are great for storing clothes, toys, shoes...

Luggage that fits inside of each other. We stick it between the bed and the wall (by the headboard)and use the top as a little table.

Collapsible hamper
Plasticware or grab a buch from CS
Zip lock bags various sizes
power strip wiith a 3 prong adaptor
a step stool (so our DD can reach the sink)

I will add these to the list, I can't believe I forgot to add 3 prong adapter.

Do they not have 3 prong outlets?

Can you request a step stool? That would actually be awesome!

They should, I don't think I needed an adapter but hey that's why I say just in case. This is also for any of the moderate resorts, which some haven't been updated.

:-) true

Does POR have step stools you can request at check-in?

They have the 3 prong outlet, but I ran into times when I needed it:)
I cannot remember which resort we were at when we forgot to bring our stool, but I just happen to mentioned it to a CM and she made a call and we got one:) I guess I should say "they may have a stool"

I also bring a nightlight for the vanity area. A couple of tiered hangers for shorts/pants and for wet bathing suits.

I thought I read in the POR thread that there is not an HDMI hookup on the TV. Is that wrong?

Subscribing! Thanks so much for starting this thread :)

On the main POR thread people had also suggested liquid pump soap and your own beach towel.

I also always take to any hotel a hook that goes over the shower rail to hang my wet swim suit.
