I am booked for Port Orleans have stayed there 3 times before and love it. Thing is we have 5 people and two are teenagers so the extra bathroom and bed would be great. This is mid June, and only two nights, 3 days on our way to a beach vacation. Is the all star music full of groups? If staying in a suite is it close to parking? We drive in and don't really use the busses, we do like the boat to Disney Springs though from Port Orleans, and the atmosphere. Is all star music much further from magic kingdom? Thanks for any advice

Have you priced out 2 rooms at por vs suit at asm? Also the all star resorts are pretty far.

I'm sorry I should have added that. They will be like 24 dollar difference a night between those two when we go. When we go to early magic hour we will have to leave pretty early i imagine to magic kingdom. The extra 24 a night is for the suite, POR is cheaper

All star is over near AK I believe, so a bit further out. I stayed at Sports, not Music, but pretty much same difference. It's okay, and that's really the best I can say; it was cheap and if I had to I'd stay there again but definitely not my first choice. For me, the double vs queen bed issue solves that problem (although I don't remember what's in the suites so that may be a nonissue). For only 2 days it might not matter. But personally I'd stay at POR.

I wouldn't factor in drive time at all. Once you're on the Disney road system the difference between destinations is only minutes.

However, with cost being about equal, I'd definitely pick Port Orleans.

Definately POR....the shared buses for the All-Star Resorts are a turn off for us. POR has the trundle bed if you have a room in the Alligator section. Building 11-15 are close to Buses, dining, etc.

We always stay in an ASMu suite when our teenage son goes with us. I cannot imagine having to share one bathroom with three people. We love having a room separate from our son because he often stays later at the parks than we do and likes to stay up late to watch TV. With the suite we are all happy - DH and I get to sleep without being woken up and our son can do whatever he wants. My DH and also love that we get a queen bed at the ASMu suite.

AS far as the "distance" to the parks goes, we have honestly never noticed that it is "farther" away and we have never had any problem getting to any of the parks much earlier than rope drop staying at ASMu. Having stayed in other rooms at both the ASMu and ASMo I have also never noticed ANY difference with how close or far away we are from the parking lot. I honestly don't feel that any of the All Stars are any more spread out or require any more walking than other resort.

I will add that when our son isn't with us we always stay at a deluxe resort but I don't feel like we are slumming it when we stay at ASMu. The extra bathroom and extra space are well with the fact that the rooms are much more basic. Granted if my DH and I were planning on taking a trip where we will spend more time at the resort than at the parks an All Star would clearly not be where we would choose to stay, but I wouldn't stay at Port Orleans in that scenario either.

I would do Port Orleans. If you normally stayed at Riverside and wanted a change you could do French Quarter or vise versa for a change of scenery.

I would love to do French Quarter, but unable to with 5 people:( We did years ago when my 8 year old was an infant

We will never stay at ASR again, honestly it was so LOUD and chaotic. maybe for 2 nights wouldn't be too bad though.

I've done both with my family of 5. I would do the suites for much easier mornings with the 2nd bathroom.

All the suites are in the 4 closest buildings to the front.

Since you are driving, the parking fee will be lower at ASM, lol.

I already booked a room in January, but changed it to a all star resort with suite a few weeks back, do you think if it is after the 31st I will be charged even though I originally booked in January, for parking that is?

If it’s only $24 dif between a Suite at AllStars and 2 rooms at POR or POFQ, I’d go with one of the POR resorts. It’s one of our fav resorts. I just can’t get myself excited about the value resorts.

Did your confirmation number stay the same? If so, you will not be charged. If it changed, you will be charged.

I would pick por over an all star since it’s not that much of a difference in price. We just shared a room at Pop with four of us and sharing the bathroom wasn’t a problem at all. I would rather share a bathroom at a nicer resort.
