What is it like at Port Orleans French Quarter? We are going at the end of April? Has all of the POFQ been redecorated, or is it just certain buildings? Is it easy to get to the theme parks and Downtown Disney from POFQ? Are the breakfasts expensive? Can you get on the boat to and go to different places if you have the Disney transportation service? :boat:

If you have been did you like it?

I haven't stayed there but there are some pictures on the DIS Here

The boat only goes to DTD you will get Disney buses to the parks :)

We LOVED POFQ - we stayed there over Christmas?new Year 1997. The food court prices were much the same as anywhere else - though it was quite small. In fact the whole resort is small which is partly why we liked it. The pool has a slide and is a good size. There's a hot tub nearby as well. We hired bikes one day.

The rooms are bigger than Value resorts and have 2 sinks which is nice - don't know about refurbishment I'm afraid. Transport to DTD is by boat and elsewhere by bus.

If we didn't own at BCV, I'd stay there again without hesitation.

The French Quarter re-opened in March 2004 after a lengthy closure when ALL rooms were refurbished.

I like the atmosphere at this resort - much smaller than the other moderates so it has a different feel, and is a good contrast to the liveliness of the parks. (That said, I also like the other moderates for different reasons!!)

The boat to DD is a nice little (free) extra, and you have bus transportation to all of the parks.

Only drawback is that the restaurant closed so you only have the food court BUT we tend to eat lunch and dinner outside the resort so it is no big deal for us.

You can also use the next door Riverside amenities. There is also a pleasant walk by the water to the Riverside from the FQ if you want to wander!

We were there October 05.

As already said the resort is much smaller than the other moderates, so there is no long walk to the food court (even if you're in one of the further blocks). The on site restaurant is no longer there, on previous visits we never went in, prefering to eat other places. Not having a resturant isn't a problem, the food court is still there, and it is only a short walk (5 minutes) to PO Riverside, which still has a resturant.

Guests at PO FQ can use all of the facilities of PO Riverside.

The boat to Downtown Disney is a really nice way of getting there.

One big advantage of FQ over Riverside is that the busses tend to call at FQ before going on to Riverside. So, you can usually get sat down, you are also first off the bus on the way back.

When we were there the room had high speed internet access, although we didn't use it.

Next time we go we will probably stay there again, unless our numbers come up in the lottery and we can afford to stay at the GF or Poly.

:) Chris

I love this resort - we stayed here September 2004. The resort is quite small so the bus stops and food court etc are just a short walk away!! The theming of the resort is lovely!!

We found the buses quite regular and the staff very helpful. The boat to DTD is great too - you will have a great time at this resort!

Hi
We stayed here Dec 05 and really liked the resort. It's very compact and easy to get to everything.
I'm sure you'll have a fantastic time there.
