We leave in just under 2 weeksand have never used online check-in before. Our hope is for rooms that are connected (we are traveling with daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter) but I was also wondering about a room at the end - I have read where some rooms have two windows but wondering if it is possible to have both?
There are no firm answers, however:
How much time does it take to get to magic kingdom and animal kingdom?
About 15-20 minutes from when the bus actually leaves the resort. Remember there might be some time travelling within the resort first, picking up at other stops.
How much wait time for buses to arrive?
That depends on when you turn up! They are meant to be at least every 20 minutes, but it can vary by destination, time of day, time of year, park hours, number of guests waiting, route taken, star sign of the driver, etc, etc, etc. In short, it could be anything from zero to maybe 30+ minutes if there are delays.

Since King room is a bookable category and cost more, if they can not provide one for you at check in, they have to refund the price difference if there is one. If they you put in a room with queen beds in a river view room that's the same price as a king then they wouldn't of course.
I once booked (and paid) for a preferred room at Pop. As we were checking in, I realized we had been placed in a standard room. When I mentioned it to the young CM, he just kept checking us in and made the offhand comment that Disney frequently overbooks and they did not have any more preferred rooms, so we had been placed in a standard room. He acted like it wasn't any big deal and happens all the time. He wasn't even going to mention it, if I hadn't known where the preferred rooms were and asked about it.When I asked about the price differece then, he got huffy, said it would take a manger to refund the difference, all the managers were busy, and did I really want to go through that.
Uh, yeah, I want that price difference back. It took just a few moments for a manager to credit my credit card back for the difference.

Do you think there will still be poolside activities and nightly marshmallow roast/movies in January. We arrive in 13 days.![]()
Absolutely. The main POFQ pool will be closed for maintenance 17-18 Jan, but otherwise yes.

Thanks! We leave WDW on the 17th so we are good to go. I was also wondering about the food selection/prices in the gift shop vs. buying from Garden Grocer. We want some bananas, apples, cereal cups, pop-tarts, donuts and a bag of salty snacks for 5 days. Wondering if we should just take our changes with the selection in the gift shop. Anyone have photos or a list of what they sell?
I was pondering the same thing today...whether to purchase breakfasts from the gift shop or wait for a delivery. How accurate is GG in terms of delivery time? I don't want to spend my whole day waiting around for them to get there.
You can have them deliver when you're not there, and they'll keep it at the front. In the past we've always had delivery time set for about a half hour before we get to the hotel, and it is always there when we arrive.
What about items that need to be refrigerated? And what if your room is not yet ready when you arrive at the hotel?

The resort shop will definitely be more expensive than GG, but for a few items it would do you fine. They have a range of basic items and drinks, such as:

WAIT!!! Is that a gallon of bottled water???
Yes, looks like it to me - which also answers a question from a few days ago. Zephyrhills distilled water (from a larger image).
