I read that the boat for DTD opens at 10 am. Does that mean that there will be a boat leaving POFQ at that time? Or does it start from DTD at that time?

We just got back from POFQ and had a great trip! We have always stayed at a deluxe, and were so surprised how much we liked it here! We were in building 4 room 4108. It faced the courtyard and was very close to the bus stop. The rooms were very clean and still have the new room feel and look. The grounds are just so beautiful. The gift shop was bigger than I thought it would be with a great selection. One of the best parts of our stay was the cast members. We were greated by all the passing by cast members! I really don't understand some people who say Disney has gone down hill. Our stay was magical!

Oh yea, the best part of our stay was MNSSHP! I can't believe how fun it was! We did it on our last night and it was a great way to end our vacation!

I think you have to call and request the alcohol items be added to your order. They have to do some age verification.

Thanks for the info. I had pretty much written off GG, but if we can order the alcohol from them as well we will go for it! I don't want DH spending $7 on a bottle of beer!!

Glad to hear you liked it. We are nervous to do a mod after doing deluxes but I have read good things about POFQ. Just wish it had a gym!
What night were you at MNSSHP? The reviews have been bad so I'm holding out on buying tix.

We left POFQ on October 9 (arrived October 1) and luggage services was at our door at 4:00 a.m. just as we had asked. Their pickup made our early departure manageable!

We loved POFQ and were previously big fans of CSR (still really like CSR, too). I would say that POFQ is our new favourite as we would choose it over CSR. We loved the smaller scale of the resort and its theming and we didn't find that the busses were any better or worse than those at CSR, both were very good from our experiences. Also loved the pool at POFQ as did DS. We liked how it kind of 'rambled about' and the activities around the pool were terrific. We used the boat on a ride from DTD to POFQ and enjoyed that trip. Not sure I would have liked to be a guest at TreeHouse Villas as the boat horns would wear thin pretty quickly in the evenings.

Our room was 2210 and was nicely placed, being close to the pool, the dock and the main building/bus area. We looked out on a courtyard and it was really pretty. Our only semi-complaint was that the courtyard was used as a smoking area, however we could not smell the smoke when we left our room, so it really wasn't much of a bother.

The CM's at POFQ were very helpful and very pleasant. The ones in the gift shop were terrific and were holding bead contests with the kids which DS loved. He left the resort with about 20 strands of beads! We found the food court to be a good size, enjoyed the unsweetened iced tea, sometimes mixed with the white peach iced tea and loved the pizza, twice using two counter service credits for a take out pizza with two juices to save for breakfast and snacks for DS and DH for dessert. We made sure to be back on Tuesday night to see NCIS and NCIS-LA, so the pizza was a fun change and we thought it was quite good.

All in all, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay there again. Great value for what you receive in many ways.

We went this last Tuesday the 11th. It was our first time going, so don't have anything to compare to. I kept hearing about long lines for trick or treating, and there wasn't. We got a lot of charachter pictures and the wait was not bad at all. Of course we didn't even want to try the Dwarfs. No lines for the rides. Went to the late parade and had a good spot right by the castle.

Our options are 27th, 28th, 30th, 31st, 1st. I am leaning towards the 27th- crowdwise. We are doing HDDR the 31st. Figured the 28th would be busier since it is a Friday. Not really interested in the 1st.
Glad you had fun!

We just got back this week from 16 days at POFQ. We stayed there last year, decided to leave the Poly out this year and go back there and we're booking again to go back there next year. That should answer your question ;) I can't say enough about this resort and honestly, I think it has officially become our home resort now.

Regarding MNSSHP, we did two. One of which was the busy one on September 27th. Yes, it was really busy, but we still got lots of stuff done and had a blast and there was nothing awful about it at all. We went to a second party on October 2nd and it was really quiet by comparison. Short lines, plenty space to move around and again, we had the time of our lives. I wouldn't be too easily put off by damning reviews. I truly believe that the parties on September 27th and 30th were so busy because they both fell into the week leading up to the start of the F&W festival, the 40th anniversary celebrations and the Wine & Dine half marathon. I will admit I have not read reviews on subsequent parties since those dates so I will go and see what folk are saying, but if you can go, it is so worth the money :goodvibes

Your post came in while I was typing and I didn't see it

31st and 1st are the two I would have told you to avoid if you want to keep away from heavy crowds. Typically those are the two that often sell out so they will not be quiet. If you can go with a weekday or a Sunday night that would be my choice. :goodvibes

Hi there. We're on our way to the POFQ (1st time at that resort) in 5 weeks! :cool1:

We've booked a riverview room. Can somebody tell me please what building #'s constitute a riverview?

Thanks a lot.

Glad to hear you loved POFQ. I have only seen positive reviews for it, though I haven't sought out any negative ones.;)
I think we will be happy there.

The 27th is a Thurs, so I think we will do MNSSHP that night as opposed to Fri the 28th. It is less expensive and I'm hoping less crowded.

POFQ is my favorite place to stay when I'm going down for a "vacation" rather than just dropping by for maybe a day or few (values or off-property are OK for that). I've never been disappointed here, and when I stayed in April I had one of the renovated King rooms. Those are really nice - although obviously not for families. I love the peace and quiet, but the jazz in the lounge is great too (the lounge is right next to the food court, so you can listen from there if you don't want the kids in the lounge - but it's not really an issue since it's mostly families in the lounge, too). And the resort has excellent bus service.

For the kids, I think that POR has a better slide and pool. And no, it is NOT pool hopping to use it. The ferries will take you to POR, or just walk along the river. And don't forget to use the ferries to Downtown Disney at least once.

You should end up in buildings 1,2, 5, 6, or 7. Have you tried looking at the maps over at www.portorleans.org? It shows the lay of the resort really well.

POFQ really is a great resort, hope you enjoy your stay!
