We're in a similar situation. We are going late October. Called yesterday to see if we could change our room-only date to be included as FD, but there was no availability @ FQ for our arrival date. They offered us Riverside, which was our second choice, for now we have decided to wait and hope that something will open up at FQ before we leave. The CM I spoke to said that we would not have to pay a fee (even after the 45 day mark) since it would be considered an upgrade.

Just check availability every day. You never know what will open up. It took me 2 weeks, but I found our FD. Also, you may have better luck as it gets closer to 45 days out as some people may not pay their pkg balance in full releasing their pkg to you. Good luck and don't give up!

Could someone explain to me how checkout works at POFQ? We will be taking ME to MCO to catch an airtran flight at 4:00 p.m. Is there a place for us to print boarding passes at POFQ? This is our first trip, so we are unsure about many things! THank you for your help!

Yes, there is an airline check-in kiosk in the registration area. I believe you need to check you luggage and obtain your boarding passes at least three hours prior to your flight. You can plan on ME picking you up at the resort about 2 hours prior to your flight time.

If you leave a credit card on your account for payment, you do not have to go to the front desk to check out. You will receive a statement either under your door or hanging on your door the morning of your departure. It will list all of your charges. If you don't leave a credit card, you'll need to check-out at the front desk.

Why would I need to go to the front desk if there are no charges to dispute and the room is paid for? :confused3

It's only if you have to settle up your bill for things you charged to the room. If you didn't charge anything (drinks, tips, souvenirs, whatever) then you don't need to go to the front desk.

Hello!

My DH and I are staying at POFQ October 23-29 and it's his first time EVER at Disney! We planned our trip waaaaay back in March and I can't believe it's coming so quickly! I just wanted to thank everyone for all the great tips and advice regarding POFQ - I've been to Disney lots of times but have never stayed here and am really looking forward to the adventure!:yay:

I'll be there the same time too :cool1:

We have had afternoon flights out of MCO. Just be sure to double check the hours that the airport check out kiosk functions at your resort. In order to have your boarding passes printed you may need to present yourself, with ID, more than 3 hours ahead of time. Your carry on luggage may be left with Bell Services until it is time to board Magical Express.

Third trip, staying at POFQ. March 27-Apr 4, very exited! My only concern is I keep hearing either really bad or really great things about the buses. I read th4e FQ is the 1st to be picked up and the last to be dropped off when sharing with Riverside. Any thoughts from experienced Port Orleans veterans??? Happy vacationing all!!

We just got back yesterday and the buses were great. We never shared on the morning but many times we did if traveling during the off-peak times. We were the first stop on every return trip except one. For some reason that driver decided to go to Riverside first.

The resort airline check in counter is open from 5 am to 1 pm. They will give you your boarding passes and you can check your bags as well. They only accept credit cards to pay for the bags.

For ME, we were picked up about 3 hours before our departure time. We were the first stop followed by Old Key West and Saratoga Springs. By the time we got to our gate, we had about 30 minutes to wait before boarding.

Thanks for the info. I was thinking I was going to have to call Delta the night before leaving to pay for my luggage.

Thanks so much for the help with how checkout will work! I'm one of those people who feels infinitely better by knowing what to expect, so I really appreciate it!

That happened to us once -- the one time dh had to get to the bathroom really quickly and instead we ended up touring POR and then the bus driver asking why everyone wasn't off yet (it was so late at night that there were no pickups). Then he realized he'd missed POFQ. Dh was not a happy camper!

if we do the airline check in at the resort then we head straight to security at the airport right?

Maybe a silly question but ....is there automatically a fridge in the POFQ rooms or do you need to request one? Thanks
