I'm so glad I kept checking for a FD package to appear. I booked it & now we are back at FQ with free dining for 11 days in October! Yippie!!! My only complaint is that my room only res was river view & my FD package is standard. (Really, I am not complaining! I am so glad to be back!!!) I think I am just going to request an upgrade when we check in. Previously we had requested buildings 2 or 5 river-view. What standard rooms should I request in those same buildings? Do I want upper floors so we have fewer people peeking in? Will our view be better on the ground floor? We want to stay close to the pool so DH can take DS swimming while little DS naps.

I am wishing you luck as well as myself . We are leaving NJ on Saturday (flying out of PHL) to check in at POFQ on Sunday. We are stopping in FLL first. Hopefully Irene won't survive that long.

Best wishes to you! ;)

Looks like we will miss Irene in FL, but now it's going to hit us in Jersey on Sunday:scared1::scared1: Now we have to worry about our house while we are in Disney. First I had to worry about getting there, now I have to worry about leaving my house. My nerves are going to be shot before the end of this trip:sad2:

Hi all, I posted this on the main thread (someone suggested posting here), but thought those that have stayed at POFQ may have some personal experience. We have an 8am ADR for Kona at Poly. What is the best way to get there? Take the MK bus, then the monorail (will both be running at 7am?) or is there a Character bus, direct to POLY (for Ohana) or take a cab?

We have done it by taking the bus and then the monorail but we had to hoof it. I don't like that panicky feeling of being late but we got there on time and there were only a few other diners. Taking a cab just adds to the expense for the meal so I'd rather be a few minutes late if it came down to it but I can be cheap like that! ;)

Finally got to book this resort! We originally planned on Grand Floridian. But the room type we wanted wasn't available and the moderates were a better deal for free dining. So we tried for FQ and it was booked. Then I booked Caribbean Beach and checked everyday for an opening in FQ. On Monday they had FQ open for our dates! I called and changed it to FQ. Yea! Just in time too because free dinnig is no included for our dates now!

This is our first moderate since POR was Dixie Landings when I was a teen!

I take lots of pictures to and I always post them!

We requested building 4 as close to the food court as possible. I love that this resort is the smallest.

Question??

Our flight arrives at MCO at 4:45pm. We will be taking ME to POFQ and will then want to go somewhere for dinner that night (outside the parks). I was going to try for Ohana. What is the earliest time I should even consider getting ADR at Ohanas?? If it will cut down on time, I will consider taking a taxi cab..

Thanks for your help!

If things go smoothly (short wait for ME and Disney buses), I think you'd have a chance of making a 7:00PM ADR. You might have to delay checking in until after dinner.

My worst case planning estimate for ME from landing until resort arrival is usually 3 hours but it's never taken us that long. If you use that, I think 8:30PM is still doable and just be ready to take a cab from POFQ if you need to.

I hope this helps! :)

We did the same thing. Booked CBR with FD and kept hoping for FD at PORFQ to open up. I noticed it at midnight on last Friday night and called to book at 7am Saturday morning - I was too excited to sleep. They did change the dates for our 1st day too, but did give us the original published start date.

Just got back at 1am from 6 nights at POFQ. I cannot say enough great things about this resort. The grounds, the food court, the staff, short ride to all parks. Moies at night were awesome. Wish were able to make more than one!.

THis is definitely our new Disney home. Booked for next year ;)

thanks for the review....we are 48 days away from our first stay! can't wait

I'm pretty sure I would need to check in first so I can get my cards for free dining. I will shoot for 8 or 8:30... (it will only be 6 our time.. just right for dinner! :) )

We are booked here for our first trip at POFQ in 3 years. We got FD from Nov 13-20 and room only from Nov 10-13. They just backed up the dates for FD, with Nov 12th opening up as a FD date. I tried to change our dates, but no go at POFQ. After much pondering, while I'd love another day of free dining, I think we love POFQ more...and probably won't make the move to a different resort. Hoping that the date opens up eventually!

We're in a similar situation. We are going late October. Called yesterday to see if we could change our room-only date to be included as FD, but there was no availability @ FQ for our arrival date. They offered us Riverside, which was our second choice, for now we have decided to wait and hope that something will open up at FQ before we leave. The CM I spoke to said that we would not have to pay a fee (even after the 45 day mark) since it would be considered an upgrade.

Many months ago I posted for advice on which mod to stay at. We had won a AAA disney contest and the room part of the prize was a mod resort. Having not stayed at a mod since 1999 or so I was a little worried. I love my balcony!!!! I digress...I must say I really enjoyed POFQ! VERY nice rooms. Nicer than the internet portrays them in pics.

I didn't like the scratchy noisy sheets and the window humming fan thing. We were in building 7 and had a great location. The next leg of our trip was at YC CL (our all time favorite resort) and I love the bed there! :) But honestly my entire family was impressed with POFQ. Nice food court, nice rooms, GREAT mousekeeping!!!! HEck if it had a balcony and quieter sheets I would go every year! :) Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Though I will say I would have shot myself if I had a pool view somewhere. That pool is SO noisy and goes all hours....

Hello!

My DH and I are staying at POFQ October 23-29 and it's his first time EVER at Disney! We planned our trip waaaaay back in March and I can't believe it's coming so quickly! I just wanted to thank everyone for all the great tips and advice regarding POFQ - I've been to Disney lots of times but have never stayed here and am really looking forward to the adventure!:yay:

oops - I'm trying to add a ticker to my posts and I think I am too tired to do it correctly...help!
