for those who have stayed on the lower floors, are the sounds of people walking on your ceiling really noticeable?

Not in my experience, we always request a ground floor room and have never had a problem. The only issue is the volume of the toilet flushing in the next room but if you close your own bathroom door you don't hear a thing.

Figured I'd get better results here than in my own thread :)

1. Traveling with mostly able-bodied adult sister. We will not have or need a wheelchair at the resort but have requested a room close to facilities. I double checked to make sure it was on the request. We will be arriving on a Thursday, around 5-6 depending on traffic. Should we do online check in?

2. Does the reservation have to be paid in full online if you do online check in?

3. To get to DTD, is it quicker to use the boat or to drive?

4. Are there any theme parks where it's truly less of a hassle to use the transportation from POFQ (aside from MK)? Does it make a difference if we plan to come back to the hotel during the afternoon and then return in the evening?

5. Any must-haves at the food court?

6. For 9 AM reservations at the Crystal Palace, how early should we be at the bus stop?

7. Can I purchase TiW from the front desk, or do I have to go to a guest services window at one of the theme parks or DtD?

I know that's a lot. But if you know the answer to any, please do let me know!

Our first visit to POFQ is on Sep. 24th! Staying till Oct. 1st. YAY! Be on the look out for lime green mickey heads in our window. HAHA!

One year ago today I booked our Nov. 2010 trip because my mil, who died that day, wanted us to go to WDW after she died and not wait until our planned April 2012 trip. She said you just don't know what the future holds and not to put off our trip. We had a great trip in 2010. Today I booked our 35th anniversary April 2012 POFQ trip. April 16 to 27 (driving, so we leave the 15th and get home the 28th).

What an amazing MIL you have. I'm glad you had a great trip. 2012 will also be our 35th wedding anniversary, yet I don't know if we will be able to go back next year. Congrats on booking your 2012 - 35th Anniversary trip. :cheer2:

In 4 days we will be arriving to POFQ with Hurricane Irene:scared1::scared1:
Lucky us!! We are trying to see if we can change our flight to Thurday night so at least we will be there and not trying to land during the Hurricane!!

I have to wait and check tomorrow afternoon to see if the airline will let us change. Wish us luck!!

1. I would wait and check-in; but honestly, POFQ is a really compact resort and everything is close by.

2. On-line check-in has nothing to do with payment; payment is set by the type of reservation you have. Sounds like you have room-only, which can be paid at time of arrival.

3. It is always quicker to drive anywhere, but the water taxi is very quick, especially after 4 p.m. They run every 10 minutes after then.

4. I do it all the time; come back mid-afternoon. POFQ does share at busy times with POR, but POFQ is always the first stop, so you will always get a seat.

5. Must have beignets; if you desire a bit more variety, POR has one of the best food courts on property right next door.

6. For reservations and relying on bus service, I always allow 90 minutes. So I would be out at the bus stop for MK bus at 7:30 am. You can also take a taxi if you wish, and you don't have to allot as much time.

7. I am not sure about the TiW card; I have never bought it; you may want to do a search to find the answer or post over on the dining board.

I am wishing you luck as well as myself . We are leaving NJ on Saturday (flying out of PHL) to check in at POFQ on Sunday. We are stopping in FLL first. Hopefully Irene won't survive that long.

Best wishes to you! ;)

Thanks, Missy! I'll have my car, but would rather not trudge through the TTC, so I think bus will be the way to go since that's the only way we'll get dropped at the gate.

The reason I ask about the water taxi is because we have reservations at Sanaa our first night but I was a dolt and kept forgetting to get my TiW card. So I'm trying to figure out the best way to purchase it on the way down. Maybe park at DTD before heading off the FQ, then driving to the restaurant for our 7:45 ADR? Or taking the taxi to DTD, buying TiW, THEN taking a bus to AKL? Gah. I think we'll just play it by ear :) And of course, there's always the chance we'll say, "F it," and eat at DTD instead. Why am I stressing about this? It's my vacation!

I'm confused about the Out Door Movies in POFQ! when is raining the Out Door Movie is cancelled or moved to the Scat Cats! Please tell me so I won't get confused! thanks!

Thanks Andre! I now understand I hope won't raining! I love Outdoor Movies! Oh! I have to wait for the list for December movies!

You can't buy TiW at the resorts.

If I were you, I'd drive to DTD, get the TiW, then go check in & go to your ADR. Or even skip check in, depending on your time frame, and just go straight to your ADR. Bus service to/from DTD is a crapshoot at best. And getting back to POFQ from AKL is a challenge as well. If you have a car, just drive to AKL; it's fastest!

That's what I thought. The good news is that the exit off I-4 passes DTD before it passes FQ, so as long as there's no parking shortage we should be fine. We do have to get to DTD at some point because my dad is providing my sister with chrome cash so we can buy him a Harley Davidson shirt
