I know I read about this somewhere on the boards but I am wondering how I request that our comforter and pillow cases, etc. be washed before we arrive.

You should have all new bedding as part of the room change service anyway. Not sure about the breadspread on top though, they may not change that for every guest - does anyone know?

I've searched this thread and the unofficial website and can't find answers to my question.

I would like two connecting rooms. While I know it's not guaranteed I wanted to maximize my chances. We are travelling with my MIL this trip and she wants to bunk with my son. We'd like a connecting room so the 6 year old can sleep and we can watch TV.

There doesn't seem to be a layout of the rooms. If anyone knows where one is I'd be most appreciative.

Would I be better to book two Queen rooms or one King and one Queen. Does anyone know if all the Kings are connecting room?

Help!
Thanks everyone.
Lisa

There are connecting rooms in both categories, just make your booking and put in a request for connecting (not just adjoining) rooms as your child will be sleeping in the other room. Trying to request specific room numbers is rarely a good idea, as you'll be very lucky if both rooms happen to be free for your stay.

You could put all the adults onto one room booking, and just have your child on the other (which would guaranntee a connecting room) but that might get you a $15 surcharge if you technically have more than two adults booked in one room.

They won't let them do that, will they? If more than one adult is on the reservation they will have to let one adult be listed in each room. They can't make it as two reservations either, with just a child in a room by himself, because the lead name on the reservation must be an adult.:confused3

Not to argue Andre, but that would NOT guarantee a connecting room. Guaranteed is NEVER guaranteed in Disney terms. The only thing that is guaranteed is that you will have a room on Disney property.

There are other threads on the Resort boards that goes into more detail. I just wanted to post this here so no one would get their hopes up.

I know I read about this somewhere on the boards but I am wondering how I request that our comforter and pillow cases, etc. be washed before we arrive. I have allergies but they aren't so severe a regular cleaning won't sufice...I just want to make sure there isn't dust or other people's perfumes on the comforter/bed that can trigger them. If I understand correctly, the resorts only wash the sheets & blankets between guests right?

My son has severe allergies so we also need a fresh comforter. We just call house keeping as soon as we get to our room and they bring one right up. I suppose you could call before you arrive but I'd be afraid it didn't get switched.

OK, technically speaking you are correct of course - you are not even guaranteed to be offered a room at the specific resort which you have booked, when it comes down to it. You could get bumped to another resort in rare circumstances.

However, I stand by what I said in that the 'best' guarantee that you can have for a connecting room would be to have unaccompanied minors booked in a room of their own, with parents in a separate room. Disney will do their utmost to put the minors and the adults into connecting (or at the very least adjoining) rooms. But yes, even then it is not guaranteed in the strict legal, hand-on-bible, sense.

I've booked my first stay at POFQ and I am so excited! After hearing such wonderful things about this resort, I wanted to give it a try. My goal is to stay at each and every resort at least once. Add this one to my list! :cool1:

OK, can I say that I am a little creeped out that they don't replace the pillowcases. Is that correct?

I just wanted to clear it up because some people take "guaranteed" as "guaranteed no matter what!" and then get upset when it doesn't happen. So, I always have found it best to just say "things are not guaranteed", but that is my personal preference. You can't be too careful sometimes!

I think the pillowcases would be considered part of the sheet set and they would be replaced between guests. I would imagine you could ask for fresh sheets during your stay, as well.

Just a quick thank you to those that helped with my connecting room question and to Andre for all the great info on the unofficial website.

I've booked the French Quarter for Oct 4-11th. The cast member I spoke to said that more king rooms don't connect because the moderate hotels are a popular place for honeymooners. I guess they don't want company :rotfl:

Now I'm just hoping for a code... :surfweb:

I can not believe how close we are and my DD turning 6 has no idea she is going to Disney on her birthday.

I have a question about the gift shop at POFQ.
Do they sell the princess dresses? If they do, I am needing to get an Ariel princess gown (not the mermaid one).

Is there a number to call to make sure they have the gown and her size?

I know I can go to Downtown Disney, but it is a timing issue.

TIA!

I'm pretty sure that you are going to have to make the trip to Downtown Disney. I know that they had a fair selection of Tiana merchandise when wer were there last year, but the other princesses were in short supply at the resort shop anyway.

We haven't stayed there since they started showing movies. Are they still showing them? And if so, what is the rotation right now? Do they show a movie every night?

Just curious, any Pop Warner or S American tour groups at the last week in Oct? FQ is small and I really don't want to have to deal with them.

Don't know about the S American tour groups, but I think they are there mostly in July and January, which are their school breaks. As far as Pop Warner: Pop Warner playoffs are always the first full week of Dec, so their dates this year should be Dec 3rd-11th.

You can always go to your local Disney Store, they have the mermaid costume and gown. They can let you know if they have the size you need and can put it on hold for your for 24hrs. If you are planning on taking her to the BBB, you can take your pre-purchased dress so you don't have to buy one there.

I wish I had a local Disney Store!!;) The closest is an hour away and I will not be able to go before our trip.

DH and I purchased a Cinderella gown for her when we were at Disney in May. She acted very happy, but after talking to her I found out she really wanted Ariel, no fin. I am going to exchange it on this trip, I just need to do it the night we get to POFQ, since we have Cindy's for breakfast the next morning.

Thanks for your help!
