Thank you so much for this thread!!

I'm thinking about upgrading from a value resort to a moderate and I'm very interested in this one :) I think the major selling point to me was the queen beds

I will find out within the next few weeks if we can upgrade or not ... depends if disney will let us on such a short notice

We are debating between POFQ and POP. It's just DH and I for 3 nights, so these threads are so helpful:)
I just wish I could decide and be done with it.:rotfl2:

If it is just the two of you, definately go for POFQ. Just the access to the water taxi in the evening to go to DTD is worth it right there, if you are looking for some wonderful things to do in the evening.

Go over to SSR and have dinner on the patio at the Turf Club one evening. I got hooked on that place a few years ago and loved it.......;)

Andre - I had forgotten to check "that other board" for a few weeks.

On the 23rd of June, they applied for a permit to refurb the Green Garden Playground......

This was the dilemma I found myself in before we booked for POFQ. There wasn't a huge price difference, so we thought it was worth it.

And THIS ^ is one of the reasons we went with POFQ. My husband doesn't remember too much I tell him, but he has mentioned that boat trip to DTD several times. I have a feeling we will be using it on more than one occassion! :goodvibes

We will be arriving on Sunday for our first stay at POFQ, and I can't wait!!!! :dance3::dance3:

If anyone has the option to stay at POFQ, I would recommend doing so wholeheartedly! Especially b/c there is often only a slight price difference between value and moderate, we couldn't imagine choosing Pop or an All-Star over POFQ.

I am SOOOO excited and had to share.

We weren't planning to go until Oct 2012, but I decided to price some trips on the WDW website for Oct 2011. I didn't book, and Disney just sent me a 20% off code.

So, I look on Priceline for airfare and got an AMAZING flight. I called Disney and got a week at POFQ for the end of October.

We haven't been to POFQ since 2004, and I'm over the moon!! I can't even stand it!!

Myself, DH, DS, POFQ, QS Dining Plan and Halloween tix. :cool1:

I'm so happy that things worked out for you. POFQ is wonderful and we love being in Florida in October.

I see they now have an extra charge for garden view. Is it worth the extra $? We have never stayed there so have no idea what it's like. We will probably be at the parks all day and I don't foresee gazing out the window much.

Does anyone have pictures of the in room coffee machine. A picture of the coffee filter/pod/packet would be supercalifraglisticexpealidocious!

Sue & Sally: The coffeemaker is the standard 4 cupper you find in most hotels. Nothing special.

I figured that would be the case...do you know what type of coffee/creamer and filter is supplied? If it's your typical basket type filter I may bring some of my own coffee. If it's pods I'll bring those. It will beat paying for it at the food court.

Its just a filter pack. I find it to be drinkable. You get a condiment kit with one double pack of Splenda and one double pack of sugar, along with two powdered creamers. I don't do powdered creamers so I just keep milk in the fridge.

And because I have been incredibly ill (with Noro) from hotel cups/glasses, I never, ever, use cups provided in a hotel or even on a cruise ship in a stateroom. Usually I stay at Coronado Springs and they have regular coffee cups. I will go to the food court and get disposable cups for my in-room drinks. Or I do the OCD thing and wash my sink and faucet with disinfectent cleaner and wash my own cups. I travel quite a bit and feel that this practice has kept me healthy--even though it seems really odd to people reading.

I know what you mean about those cups-gross.
I thought most hotels supplied wrapped hot and cold cups now. What are they at POFQ? If they are regular ones, will they provide to go cups if we ask?
By filter packs do you mean coffee already in a filter?

Coffee already in filter pod.
Coronado does not have the wrapped cups in the room. I just go to Cafe Rix and grab some
Would assume that POFQ has the wrapped cups due to breakage but I will find out next week when I check in.

There is no Keurig or single-cup brew machine.

Just back Saturday from a week at POFQ. We paid for a water view room and I was a little worried when I read that the view could be of the pool, the river, or a fountain. Well we wound up in building 2 room 2333. It was the corner room overlooking the pool with a side view of the river. We loved it. DW and I have been going the last few summers and unofficially celebrating our anniversery even though it isn't till August 28. The rooms look great and the queen beds were so much better than the full sized ones. We were close to everything, the food court, the boat to DTD, and the front door and the busses. We also really liked being on the 3rd floor. We flew and took ME with online checkin and we literally zoomed through the process. We got to the Hotel about 1:30 and the room was ready and we dropped of some things and headed straight to MK. We also took time to walk to Riverside for breakfast one morning and look around their gift shop. Also the direct POFQ busses made things a lot more bearable as well.

We love POFQ and have stayed there I think 5 times and have already said next trip we are going back.
