Thank you so much for the carriage ride idea.
It will be our first time at POFQ and a moderate (yes we are downgraded from deluxe, which is no longer in our budget).
I thought a Riverside and French Quarter carriage ride will allow our family of 4 to learn more about the resort and our way around.
When are the carriage rides available ?
Every evening ?
What times ?
Do I reserve the carriage ride 180 days in advance, like an ADR ?
What happens if it rain the evening we have the carriage ride reserved ?
Sorry if I asked to many questions.
The carriage ride sounds a nice way to spend our first night at POFQ.
This isn't 100% accurate (my comments are in purple) but I copied it from
http://www.wdwinfo.com/recreation/trailride.htm
A relaxing and cozy 25 -minute (our ride lasted an hour) carriage ride through Disneys Port Orleans Riverside Resort (POFQ can be included in the ride)
$45.00 for 25 minutes (includes tax)
Tickets are sold by the carriage drivers (but are not always available -- If the carriage ride is a must do, don't plan to just walk up and be able to get a carriage, make an advance reservation.)
Cash and Disney Resort guest room charge only (for walk-ups). No credit cards are accepted (by the driver)
Large carriage holds 4 adults or 2 adults and 3 small children.
Reservations nightly (weather permitting)
Begins at 6:00 pm with the last ride departing at 9:30pm
Departs from in front of the Boatwright's Dining Hall
Beverages are permitted (You can even bring a bottle of wine.)
Advance reservations (using your credit card) can be made up to 180 days ahead by calling 407-WDW-PLAY. A $45 fee for no-shows or cancellations with less than 24 hours notice will apply. (Another website says ressies can be made only 90 days in advance for this.)
Carriage Rides may be cancelled due to weather problems.
Hope this gives you all the info you need!
