Wow so many people are so close to their trip!

I'm at 20 days, it'll be my first stay at POFQ as well; last trip we stayed at POR, so I'll be interested to compare the 2!

Our trip was rather last minute but boy am I looking forward to it. I cannot wait to try out another 'new to me' resort. :woohoo:

We'll be at POFQ from 8/26 till 9/4. Anyone with overlapping dates??

We'll be there from 8/30 - 9/7. Our first moderate - so excited! I'm driving my family nuts!

Ahh!! We just got the 25% / 35% off pin code but French Quarter is out of availability for our stay! :sad1:

Did you call or are you basing it on an e-mail/snail mail you got? Sometimes if you call, they have other dates available that are not listed...who knows you may have another PIN attached to your name.:confused3

Yes, thank you for sharing your photos, we're staying at FQ for the first time next trip and I love seeing them. I didn't realize they had all those activities so thanks for that info as well.

I can't wait to go!!!

I have been going over the maps at Andre's site and still need a little help picking a room to request. Here are our needs:

*Close to parking lot & main building-my mom has bursitis in both legs and at this point she is going to try to do without a wheelchair but either way she has a lot of leg pain so the less walking the better. She will have a handicap tag.
*Close to buses
*I would like a nice riverview/close to the riverboat launch but I don't know if that is possible with our other needs
*I would like to be on the route of the horse & carriage to hear the clippity-clop of them passing by...I love that sound.

So given all that (we aren't need at all are we:lmao:) can anyone give some suggestions for room locations that might fit that? Room #s/sections would be even better!

Thank you!

5 more sleeps and we will be there!!! YAY!!

Alicia - Buildings 4 & 5 are close to the bus stop, main building, and pool. The carriage goes by both buildings, just depends where your room is located as to whether or not you can hear it. These buildings are at the front of the property, and the river is on the back. Only about a 5-7 minute walk to anyplace you want to go - no matter which building you are in. It's one of the great things about the POFQ!!

Trouble is you have several conflicting needs:

Closest to parking lot and Main Building would be buildings 3 or 4.
Closest to buses would be 4 (with 6 and 5 close behind).
Closest to Main Buildings and with River Views would be 2 or 5.
Closest to riverboat launch is 2 (but 5 is good too, so is 1).
Good for clippity-clop sounds :) would be 5, 6 or 7.

As has been said, POFQ is a very small resort for any able-bodied person, but of course even a short walk may be an issue for your mother. You could try using Google Earth's ruler tool to pick a location on the overhead view and see how far the walk back to the bus stops would be. There are corridors through the buildings at all the junction points, so you don't need to walk all the way around the perimeter.

I would suggest that a River View room in building 5, staying near to the pool end if possible, would fit the majority of your needs, except maybe the walking. That said, the walk from a riverfront room in building 5 to the bus stop is about 300 yards - or to put it into perspective, about the same as the walk from hub by the train station down Main Street to the castle in the Magic Kingdom.

Only 10 more days until our first stay here!!!!

I have been checking this page but havent read anything about recent water deliveries...anybody have water delivered recently? I havent done it in two years, I think the last time I ordered from Costco.

Just want to make sure the resort doesnt have a problem with this!

Thanks
Margaret:wizard:

Has anyone stayed at POFQ through Christmas? :santa:
Wondering if there are any activities on Christmas Eve similar to the deluxe resorts (Mickey & Minnie in the lobby etc.)?

The riverview rooms are phenomenal! With the small size of the resort, I would go with building 2....it is close to the main building, the pool, and the boat launch, and just a tiny walk to the bus stop. It is hard to go wrong at POFQ. Hve fun!

I don't think POFQ was even included in this promo. I tried every possible date combination I could think of and was always directed to other resorts. I hope this isn't the case next April! Dh insists on POFQ but if I have to take a Deluxe resort at close to the same price I'd be paying at POFQ without a discount, that gets mighty tempting.
