Port Orleans FQ or Caribbean Beach?

I just spent 71 minutes (start to finish) booking the AP rate for PORFQ and already I thinking of changing. I am so bad!

Hopefully you can help me decide if I should spend another 71+ minutes on hold.

We are going for a long weekend at the beginning of June to celebrate our first wedding anniversary, we've never stayed at any of the moderates (well I think I stayed at POR a looooong time ago when I was 12) I initially booked PORFQ, because it is smaller, more intimate and just seemed to have a more romantic feel. Also, from what I have read you can walk along the river and the boat ride to DTD disney looked nice.

But now I am looking at CBR and thought it might be nice because we went to Maui for our honeymoon and it could be kind of fun to revisit the "tropical/beachy" atmospshere.

Like I said, we are only going for a long weekend. We go to the parks early in the morning, hang out at the resort (pool, walk around) in the afternoon, I usually do some DTD shopping at some point, and one night we are eating dinner in Epcot and the other night we are eating somewhere and going to Jellyrolls at the Boardwalk.

Transportation is not an issue for us because we are driving over from the Tampa area (so we don't rely on Disney transportation).

Soooo....given all that, which resort do you think would be nicer for our first anniversary. I am sure we would be happy at either one, but for general walking around the resort in the evening, etc. is one a lot prettier than the other?

POFQ is my favorite Disney resort. I think that once you stay there, you'll never want to stay anywhere else.

Awww, thanks! We are super excited about going. I was showing my husband pictures last night and he thinks it looks really nice.

I say stick with the POFQ. The CBR is very nice, but I personally like the atmosphere at the POFQ better. You gave yourself two pluses of staying there--the pleasant walk along the river and the boat to Downtown Disney.

We have stayed at half of the WDW resorts from Deluxe/Home-Away-From-Home/and the Moderates! But after our first stay at the POFQ we want to stay no where but there! It's Beautiful and so Romantic not to mention Relaxing. We Love the Boat ride to DTD and the closness of the food court, Busses, the short walk to POR. Oh and hard to believe but it is even more Beautiful since their rehab a few years ago. We think the rooms are Great! Not trying to sell you but this is just how we feel about this Resort.

I have to agree. Stick with POFQ, and stroll over to POR and do the horse drawn carriage ride around the entire (POR and POFQ) resort for a little extra romance.

I tried to get the A/P discount for CBR on Wed. for June 4th thru June 12th and there were no rooms available! We have never stay at Port Orleans-I hope we like it as well as we did CBR.

Stay with FQ, I think you'll enjoy the smaller quieter more intimate feel of it.

I am so happy to hear these responses as well. I have been waiting 9 long years to make it to WDW and we are finally going in May. 9 years of planning does funny things to you though, and I just didnt know where to stay. I booked POFQ today and my husband who is spoiled by business trips to 5 star resorts says it looks like a motel and how much for the next step up.(which is waay out of our league) This is it I tell him. I am hoping it will be as romantic and beautiful as people say. I have seen good pictures tho too.
