Hi all,
I know this has been asked as infinitum, but would you pick Riverside or French Quarter? I went ahead and booked Riverside, but I’m wondering if the smaller size might be better suited for me and my bf.

Pros to Riverside: My bf would like to fish, I’d like to eat at Boatwright’s, and I like the theming of the mansions the best.

Pros to FQ: smaller size is the biggie. We stayed at Yacht Club last time, so he may be expecting a smaller size resort. Other than that, the food court offerings seem slightly better.

I suppose it’s 6 of one and half a dozen of the other since you can walk between both. Just curious for thoughts, especially since my bf is a smoker who doesn’t much enjoy walking far.

We prefer everything at Riverside over French Quarter. Theme, pools, food court, entertainment, size, basically everything.

Looking at the photos and reading about it before, that was my initial feeling. It wouldn’t be a Disney trip though if I didn’t second guess myself. :goodvibes Thank you!

Oh yeah, completely understand. Now we thoroughly enjoyed our stays at French Quarter but if choosing between the two Riverside wins. You're welcome.

We much prefer French Quarter to Riverside. We like the smaller size and that there is a single bus stop, those things top the pros column for us.

We like Riverside, but love FQ.

I prefer the French Quarter from the size to the theme. The downside was the food court.

No quiet/leisure pool at French Quarter. Riverside has 5 quiet pools. ( yes, you can use all the pools at both resorts, but it’s not convenient )

I prefer Riverside too! Love the mansions. They’re all along the river and it’s so nice to step outside your building and see the river. Many of the buildings at Pofq are set back from the river.
And I like that there’s more space, It’s more relaxing. Prefer the Por food court too.
Pofq is a short walk away so you can enjoy any of the amenities there too. A trip to their food court is a must for Beignets!

We stayed at French Quarter in April of 2017 and we loved the small size of the resort. We did go over to Riverside though to take the carriage ride and that looked nice too! I'm sorry I guess that doesn't help your decision any but I guess really you can't go wrong at either.:donald:

Love Riverside. We'll be there in three weeks and I can't wait. We did walk to FQ last time and it was cute, but the layout reminds me of a small neighborhood, which I know is the point. When we were there the food court was quite small and so congested. our plan was to get breakfast there but ended up going back to Riverside as it was way too crowded at FQ.

For me, FQ wins by a hair. For DD15, POR. We usually stay at POR, but next year we're celebrating my birthday while we're there so I really want to stay at FQ. I doubt that'll happen because I always try to make DD happy, but at least a few days will be at FQ.

My favorite things about FQ: the size (it's teeny!), the music, the streets, one bus stop, love the fountain in the main building, the theming of the rooms, the music on the buses going back to the resort, the boat that goes to DS and POR, Coke Freestyle machines! Our first stay as a family was at FQ, so that might have a lot to do with why it's my favorite, too ;)
My favorite things about POR: the mansions are gorgeous, inside and out, the main building (I just feel like I'm home when I walk in those doors), the food court, the smells walking around, the (root beer) river, the music at the main pool, the rose garden by the mansion buildings, the royal rooms, Yehaa Bob!
There is only one thing I don't like about either resort, just the South Depot (main building) at POR. That is the only problem I have with either resort. I love everything else about both sides.

We like Riverside better, but both are really awesome! You can always walk over to FQ if you need a quick beignet fix, then walk it off on the way back, lol...

We like Riverside, too. I’ve never stayed at FQ, but we did walk over there twice on our most recent trip. We liked it, but really liked the theming, food court, and pools more at Riverside. I know a lot of people comment on the larger size of Riverside. While Riverside is much larger than FQ, that didn’t bother us. Maybe it was the location of our room in building 85, but we felt like we were close to everything.

We have stayed at both Riverside and French Quarter (twice each) and prefer French Quarter. Everything is compact and less than a 7 to 8 minute walk. And one bus stop compared to the many at Riverside is a big thing. Riverside is beautiful but remember its just a 15 minute walk or a 20 minute boat ride away. A couple of time when we were staying at FQ we took the boat up to Boatwrights to eat. My only hit on FQ is it needs a Table Service restaurant of its own.

I have stayed at both, but prefer everything POFQ. I like the smaller size, and the theming. I had no issues with the food court, but I rarely use them at any restaurant. You can still fish and eat at Boatwrights if you stay at either resort.
