Port Orleans carriage rides?

Ok, I have a few questions about doing the carriage rides at Port Orleans next year at the very beginning of March.

1. What time is the best time to do the ride?

2. Should I make an advance reservation, or just wait till we get there? There will be another family with us that will probably want to do this as well, during the same time period. We will arrive on a Saturday.

3. How much do you tip the driver?

4. Does the driver talk during the whole ride or just let you be? I think I would rather them just let us be and enjoy each others company.
