Hi..Just got back from POR Dec 5-8, 2003. We only stay at this resort. It is our favorite and have never had a problem....UNTIL now. We checked into Magnolia Terrace on the first floor. The room was infested with tiny bugs. They were crawling all over the sink area, bathroom floor and we even found two in the bed!!! GROSS! When we told the front desk the woman just said thank you for letting us know. She didn't even offer an apology! I don't know if anyone else has had bug problems but I think Disney needs to take notice.
Other than that, we had a great time! And we will return to POR as I am hoping this was an isolated problem.

They didn't even offer to have you swich rooms? That's horrible!

You should write the POR GM and let him no. The cm should have apologized and ask if you wanted to switch rooms.

aside from the rude cm....should definitely have apologized!! You didn't mention what they did about this problem? I can hardly imagine just hanging out in the room with all the little bugs!!! YUCK! We are going there Dec. 19th-25th and I am praying it was an isolated incident because although it would really bother me it would probably freak my little dd out so much they couldn't get her to go in the room. Thanks for any info.

You should have requested a new room immediately. No one should have to put up with that type of treatment.

I wrote a letter to POR and to Disney Guest Services. I will keep you posted on the reply. My mom just read that Caribbean Beach also has a bug problem.

I was at Parterre Place Dec 8-17 and didn't see any bugs at all... I really think you should have insisted on a different room!!!

There is no way I would ever be able to relax enough to lay my head down to sleep, knowing there were creepy crawlies in my room. I would have demanded a room change. I'm sorry you had this problem though.

Please let us know if and when you hear a reply from Disney! We are staying at this resort in March..and you mentioned the thing I am most paranoid about..bugs everywhere even in the bed...yuck yuck yuck:crazy2: :crazy2: :faint:

They are now even mentionning in the news that there may be a new epidemic with bed bugs and you can catch them from day to day activity..oh how gross...

Please let me know what they say...

Anyone else experienced this problem?

We were there Dec. 6-12--Magnolia Terrace, 1st floor, room 8549; and we saw no bugs. If I had, I would have had to request a different room--I don't do well with bugs!

Not that this excuses them from not moving you to another room; but the resort was supposedly filled to capacity with regular guests and the Pop Warner people. Maybe that's why they didn't offer?

I am still waiting for a reply from Disney. When I receieve an answer I will let you all know.

We LOVE Riverside and will stay there again. We have never had a problem before. The resort was sold out when we went Dec 5-8, 2003 and so was every other resort except for the Yacht Club which we could not afford. I think this is why we were not offered another room. I really just wanted an apology for the problem. Oh well.....we will just have to wait and see what they say.
