Port or Starboard into NYC?

I have the 2016 WBTA booked, which ends in NYC. I looked up where DCL docks in NYC and I thought that the views of the city and the Statue of Liberty would be best on the Starboard side. But my friend recently completed the EBTA, which also docked in NYC, and she thought the views were better on the Port side, but couldn't be sure because they went both into and out of NYC (the WBTA will only be going into NYC).

Anyone know for sure? I have booked a starboard cabin.

As you are going into NYC, the Statue of Liberty will be on the port side and the city will be on the starboard side. As the ship is scheduled to dock at 7:30 a.m., you will be passing the Statue at approx. 5:30 a.m. (I think that was the time when we sailed to Canada in 2012).

When we cruised out of NYC in 2012 the ship pulled in so when you are at the dock the city is in front of you. The Statue of Liberty would be on the Starboard side but you would not be able to see it from the dock.

DSCN0805.JPG The SOL is quite a bit away from where the ship docks and unless it is a very clear day you would be able to see the SOL from where the ship docks (binoculars would help). But, as you travel up the Hudson River into NYC the SOL will be on your left (port side). That early you may get fog. Here are some pics from the EBTA that I took. We had a foggy morning.

Okay, so if I want to wake up at 5:30 am and go out on balcony to see the SOL, I should be on Port side. Thanks everyone!

They will definitely make announcements around the ship the day/night before that let's you know approximately what time you would be passing the SOL so you could make arrangements. There were tons of people up early and up on deck when we came into NYC. The NYC skyline on the starboard side is also very impressive!!! Being on deck allows you to travel back and forth across the ship to catch things on either side easily.
