Port of Miami Transportation Question

Hello!
Just curious once you return from your cruise (Miami) what is the best way to get to the airport? Will there be taxis or shuttles there available to use? Do I need to make an appointment? Any idea for cost to the Miami airport? There will be 5 of us traveling

A taxi from the port to the airport is a flat rate of $27.00 and is probably the most economical option. But with 5 you would need 2 taxis unless you have a van taxi which might be possible? There are plenty of taxis waiting when you come off the cruise. No need to preorder.

A shuttle FROM the airport to the cruise port looks like it would be $55 for a party of 5. From the port back I would guess it would be the same and you likely need to prebook. At that price I would do 2 taxis for convenience - you wont have to wait for others to fill the shuttle.

I used Lyft and had a GREAT experience. it was $24.88 with tip - so the ride itself was around $18 because that driver was awesome so he got full tip.

We always fly in the morning before our cruises. We just vacationed in Miami and stayed at an awesome resort on the beach. But before our cruise out of Miami in 2018 we will just be flying in the night before so we will not be taking advantage of any beach time like we normally do the day before our Disney cruises. Are there hotels in the area of the Port of Miami? How about in the International airport itself? Don't want to spend too much $$$ since we will literally just be there to sleep. Any advice on hotels is welcomed. Thank you!

We are looking at hotels now and they are not inexpensive at all for something decent. Things are cheaper over by the airport which really isn't that far away from the port or Miami Beach.

I would reccomend staying at the Hampton Inn. You can get free breakfast at this hotel and if you want to get water, there's a market within walking distance too
