For those that have taken a cab from Port of Miami to FLL:
1). What was approximate cab fare?

2). What was approximate travel time to FLL?

I am trying to lock in flights for B2B cruise on Magic October 23 - November 1. limited flight options for us right now.

Thanks!!!

An actual taxi, not a shuttle van, will run you in the range of $85 to $90, including tip and assuming no real traffic issues. This will be a metered fare, so if you're stuck in traffic for a long time the meter will continue to run. You want to give yourself an hour from Port of Miami to Fort Lauderdale airport, although it may not take that long.

Thanks :)
Our time window will be short and I don't mind paying a little more for the taxi.

In March after the Wonder the cab ride was $74 plus tip. Walked out after getting through customs, porter took us right to the cab, in and away.

We have also used SAS out of POM to FLL which ran us $60 plus tip. We will use SAS next trip

Thanks darwinsrule (love your doggy's pic). Which one was quicker? Seems like they would both be the same.

Taxi hands down. For comfort SAS. For SAS the issue we had, and the reason we went with the cab, was that the cell reception was a problem for us so we couldn't call SAS to get them to come and grab us. They park in a lot down at the far end of the port, you call, they come do the pick up. If you can't reach them you have a problem. Getaway was tied up right beside where they park so that wasn't an issue last August as we just walked over (took a minute). It took about 15 min for the van to fill up and we were away. Both trips we were off by 9 am so cabs were everywhere. Difference between the two options was probably $15 for four so there isn't any major savings.

If pressed for time grab a cab. If less than four people it would be cheaper to do SAS. We have a 1 pm flight in August/Sept with a little time to kill and will be next to where they park so SAS wins on this next trip.

Darwinsrule - what time did you arrive at the airport when riding SAS vs the taxi? We've got a perty of 9 for a 12:00 flight out of FLL and I'm torn on what to do.

Miami has been the smoothest port to debark and clear customs in our experience. With SAS we left the buffet on Getaway at 8:30 and walked off the ship. Even with customs, finding SAS, the 15 min wait while the van filled (holds 15), the drive, we were at FLL for 9:45. Jetblue has curbside check-in (was a couple of $ per bag - use it if flying JB since the line inside was nuts), through security at at our gate for 10:15. Using the cab in March it was about the same for timing since we just didn't rush leaving the ship (maybe 8:45 leaving BBB). Now depending upon who you are flying with security may be your biggest issue when you get to FLL. Both times flying out of FLL we have flown out of Terminal F. Our first trip we got mixed in to the line for Terminal E by mistake. That line was crazy huge and wasn't moving. Part of the problem may have been that it was a Saturday and you had some big ships in port between Miami and Fort Lauderdale. With the Wonder it was a Friday and the line up was at most 5 min for security.
