I'm guessing I know the answer but want to double check. Are age restrictions enforced by DCL for Port Adventures? Sadly my DD will be 8 just 9 days after our cruise but I'm noticing quite a few Port Adventures have age limits of 8yo. I wish the DCL website still had the option to sort the Port Adventures by age so that I could just look at the ones she would qualify for rather than see all the great options she'll be too young for. This feature was there when we sailed with DCL last year but seems to have been removed.

I think I may look into booking something other than through DCL to see if there are different age restrictions.

If booking through DCL, yes they are firm on the age restrictions. However, you may be able to book the same port excursion privately and include the younger child.

Enjoy your cruise!

Thanks @lanejudy ! It was what I anticipated hearing but wanted to make sure. I may look into booking it elsewhere or, just enjoy a quieter day at Tortola.

We are booking our Jamaican tour through a private company. We want to do things as a family and I know places that will have things to do for the younger kids, but Disney wont allow the younger kids.

I'm guessing that DCL has good reasons for the age restrictions so I might be a bit uncomfortable booking the same activity with someone with less stringent restrictions. But it's possible that other vendors might do the excursion somewhat differently so the age isn't as much of a factor.

Usually it's the same excursion. The difference is the "comfort zone" of the insurers. If the private tour operator has insurers. DCL's insurers are a bit more conservative.

For us it is mostly Mystic Mountain. We understand my 3 yr old isn't big enough to enjoy the bobsled and the zip line. She will be old enough to enjoy the butterfly garden, pool, water at the base of Dunn River Falls, those types of things, while my older kids will enjoy the zip line and more exciting rides. Doing it as a family means we can spend time together and have lunch together. There are many reputable companies that will let us do this.
