I have booked my room through WDW Travel.
There are 5 of us. My kids are 15, 14 & 11. When I get there are they going to tell me my kids are too old for the room and not let us stay there. Or, will they honor the reservation? They have the ages of my kids. I am nervous because the AAA agent told me they would not let us stay there. That I had to get two rooms. We have never stayed at Disney before and this was the hotel that the Disney-site recommended. Has anyone ever been turned away?

I believe they would accommodate you in the "Alligator Bayou" section not the "Mansions", that has a trundle bed. I"m not sure how big trundles are and if one of you're children would be comfortable sleeping on it.

If not, you may have to reserve two rooms.

POR does accomodate 5 in one room. You will be in the AB section rather than the mansions because the AB rooms are the only ones with the trundle bed for the 5th person.

Don't worry...you will be fine!

My kids are smaller (4,6 and 8) and we usually find just enough space in POR. My kids love the trundle and I think I was maybe short 1 drawer. Other than that how often are you in the room ? Have a great trip!!

I've slept on the trundle and I'm a 5'5" and half chubby arthritic adult, if I thought it was comfy I'm sure it will be plenty fine for a small 11 yr old. Have a great time we love POR. Try to make time for breakfast at Boatwrights there, it's the BEST!

Five people over the age of three can be accomodated in the rooms located in the AB section of POR. If you told the agent your childrens ages when you called to book the room and they booked it for you then there should be no issue. I have read on this board about people being told that the trundle bed was for children 9yrs and under but I think that has more to do with the size of the bed then anything else. Unless your 11yr old is very big for their age they should fit on the trundle.

I don't want to scare you that you may have no problem. I would just make sure your processed paperwork you take with you has everyone listed and their ages. Last week I tried to book POR directly with WDW with 5, my DD is 12 and very petite. They refused to book the room for me because she was over 9. They said the trundle was 36"x65" and plenty big enough for her, but her age was the determining factor. I tried for some time to convince her the trundle was plenty big and we really wanted to stay there, but CM would not bend. She offered me 2 value or moderate rooms, or bump to deluxe. Some folks suggested calling back until a CM let me book, so I am guessing there are some people who have no problem.

I had the same problem as HopperFan. They would not let me put 5 in the room because no one was under the age of 9.

Having said that - if your ressie is already booked and the kids names are listed on the ressie I don't think they'll challenge that upon check-in. I think you'll be fine. POR is a great resort. Enjoy it!!

We have stayed there as a party of 5 on a couple of occasions and have never heard this. We will be there again in October. Even my ds who is 5'6" has slept on the trundle very comfortably.

We were denied once. They said someone needed to be under 5 feet tall. Well, I'm 4'11'' so they let us book it.

I wish I could find some written policy for these rooms because it makes a huge difference for families of five in deciding whether to stay onsite or not. Unless I wanted to stay value (and I have but did not want to for this longer stay) my only options (according to the CM) was going to double my hotel budget.

Wow!! I am sorry that they are not letting you book the room due to age as I have never seen this written anywhere before. Guidebooks, Disney's own site. I would think that size and not age should be the determining factor.

I was bummed, I really wanted to return to POR this trip. I think if they are going to offer a trundle, it should be up to me if my child fits on it. I guess I can maybe understand if they don't want a room full of adults, but I will have three kids with me. I prefer they be in the room with me.

I've seen a few non-Disney items that state 9 and under for trundle, but have not found it at Disney. CM was pretty firm on it. I guess I could have kept calling until a CM let me, but I don't want to find out at check in that they were letting me slide and be told I needed a second room, especially since we are going for a week. That would put a punch in our spending money.

I booked my room through the WDW Travel. I even told the agent that the AAA agent would not let me book the room because of my kids age. She told me that I just needed to be aware that it was not a full size bed. Then she booked the room. No problem. I would have just booked it online but I wanted the AAA discount so I had to go through Disney or AAA. The online system offers the POR for my stay.

I called through WDW with a AAA discount also......
......makes ya wonder if they are all reading the same stuff
