POR to DAK-bus or car?

Which is faster to get to DAK from POR=taking the bus or driving ourselves? This would be in mid afternoon.

IMHO, Driving yourself to any park is almost always faster with the possible exception of MK, but I still prefer to drive there as well.

Thank you! We are thinking about going to DAK the day we arrive, but we will only have a few hours there. We are headed to the Contemporary for dinner after.

Do you know how much time she should allot ourselves to get from POR to DAK, using a car?

And around how long it might take to get from DAK to the Contemporary by car?

From the exit of POR to the toll plaza at DAK is 6 1/4 miles, allow 15 minutes for the drive and about another 15-20 minutes to park, get the tram and arrive at turnstiles.

It's slightly over 7 miles from exit at DAK to the Contemporary resort, drive should be about 15-20 minutes, again allow another 20 minutes to get from the park exit to your car, could be quicker if tram is there waiting and you are parked close to the tram stop.

I don't think that there's much of a difference.

You said though that you plan to go to dinner at the Contemporary afterwards, and while there is a bus from AK to CR, to get back to POR you'd either have to walk over to MK and take the bus from there (which could mean a long wait if MK has just closed), or if MK is already closed (although the bus does continue to run until all guests have left the park), you would have to take the bus to DTD and then take the bus or the boat to POR, or you could take a taxi.

I don't think that there's much of a difference.

The difference I find when driving vs. taking the bus is that with your own car, you can leave when you want. You don't have to build in a cushion of waiting time.

Yeah, you would need to add 20-30 minutes for each bus ride as possible wait for the bus.
