Staying at POR for the first time 10/23 - 10/30 and was wondering if anyone has an idea which rooms/area we could request to be 1. non-smoking 2. really close to the lobby? It's my best friend and me, no kids and I think that being closer to the lobby is easier (I tend to get quite lazy when I finally get back to my room for the day - usually my 'dogs' are barkin' by the end of the 2nd or 3rd day of park hopping!!!!). Isn't there a bus stop right outside of the front doors of the lobby? Sorry if I'm way off base or didn't ask this the right way - if you have any thoughts, let me know. Thanks in advance, dandee

We were just at POR a few weeks ago and we stayed in building 14 of Alligator Bayou (room 1462 to be exact!). It was a non-smoking room on the second floor. I found it to be a great location. Short walk to the food court, lobby, bus stop and pool. I would definetly request the same location again! Hope that helps.

We stayed at Mansion section - Oak Manor #9247. While it wasn't as close as AB 14 to the lobby, it was still a short walking distance to the lobby, bus stops, food court, etc. We wanted to stay in the Mansion side as my wife didn't want to go the "rustic" route ;)

POR is separated into two sections Alligator Bayou and the Mansions (Magnolia Plantation). It just depends on what kind of theme you like. If you request the Mansions, request Oak Manor or Parterre Place, these are the closest to the lobby and main bus stop.

I was wondering if anyone like the Magnolia Terrace building.
I was thinking of requesting this when I go in Feb.

Thanks!

We stayed ini Magnolia Terrace a few years ago, and I was very happy with it. It is right near the path that goes over a bridge to Ol' Man Isle and then over another bridge to the main building. It really was not a very long walk. And I liked the fact that there is a quiet pool right next to Magnolia Terrace - great for a late night swim before bed!

We have always stayed at Magnolia. We find the East Depot more convenient than the main stop. It is close to the Pool, and we don't have many meals at the Food Court although only a short distance away.

We have always made room requests in advance, but never received these rooms exactly. However, we have never been disappointed either.

Alligator Bayou appears more intimate, kind of like staying in a condo, whilte the Mansions are definately a hotel experience.

Buildings 14 and 15 are very close to the main building and bus stop and are both non smoking (alligator bayou). I have never stayed in Magnolia Bend, so I am not sure what the best location is there.
