We love POR and have stayed there the last three summers. We have three kids and have found the trundle to work really well for us. I was just playing around on the WDW website to see how much to budget for next year's trip. Everytime I tried to get a quote for POR for our family of five it said that our party size exceeded the room limit for this resort. What is going on??

I think it is because Disney hasn't released the rates and packages for 2008 yet. When I look at POR for this year (2007) for my family it does work, but if I do anything for just 2008 it doesn't work.

That is what I thought at first so then I plugged in some off peak 2007 dates and it still didn't work. :confused3

:confused3 Just tried on the WDW website and worked fine for my dates in Dec 2007 (holiday rate) and for 1st week of DEC but, of course, kicked back the 2008 dates. :confused3

Thats computers and websites for you...never the same output for everyone.

We stay in POR every year with our family of five. I was told a couple years ago that if you can't get a trundle room, that they will give you a roll away at no charge. I have no idea how true this is, but it makes sense to me. We've never had a problem getting a room in AB though. Maybe someone else will come along that knows more.:)

It's just a bad website. We are booked there in December with our family of 5.

Family of 5 w/ 3 teens (not my family, just one I know) is booked at POR. Disney is allowing the reservation to remain, but advised that the trundle bed only holds 50 pounds. The CM said if the bed frame is bent or broken in any way, the occupants will get charged for damages. While that is completely understandable, why is Disney allowing the reservation if they really can't "sleep 5"? They know the ages of the kids.

 Thanks for any light you can shed...

Can't answer the question on why Disney is allowing it, but the trundle bed IMO is not that flimsy. I think it could probably hold 100 to 150 no problem. My oldest was laying on the trundle one day and she is just over 100 lbs and the frame didn't bend or break, so :confused3 .

I know some people bring an air mattress to use instead of the trundle.

I agree. The trundle worked well for us. It was not flimsy at all, in fact it was quite comfy!

I was helping a friend yesterday to work up a quote at POR for 2 adults and 3 kids. The first couple of times we did it it worked fine. But as we edited the package, the party size exceeded the room limit for this resort popped up. Very strange indeed. It is possible that it was all booked up, but I think it was more of computer glitch.
