Por since 2004

So I have not stay at Por since 2004, I am looking at staying there for 10 nights going solo, frist trip with out the kid,,, I mean the adult kid, any way i just wanted to see if anything has changed?, got better?, or just the same. Also I am going to be there the last week of Nov, any chance of Christmas decos be up??. Thanks for any feed back

You can check out the POR thread; the rooms are in the middle of a refurbishment. They have added movies in the courtyard nightly and daily activities by the pool, weather permitting.

Also, all the decorations are guaranteed to be up by the Saturday after Thanksgiving, with the exception of the MK tree, which goes up after the parade taping the following weekend (the first weekend in December).

Thanks, ya i am going there(por thread) but i throw it out there for specfic for late Nov and early Dec traveling. Would you recomend going a week later??. Right now I have not put down my deposit so i have some wiggle room?

That is a tough one to answer.

For several years, the Pop Warner choice for a moderate is their championships is POR, with overflow to POFQ.

They are there the first full week in December.

This past year, it was moved to CBR due to the refurbishment. It has been "rumored" with the new refurbishment, POR may not want to renew their contract with PW and that CBR will now be the new moderate choice. But that is all conjecture and there is no way of knowing until either Disney or Pop Warner posts the value and mod location a few weeks before their championship.

I would honestly book either the week after Thanksgiving or the second full week of December if you really, really, really want to stay at POR and have a truly uneventful stay.

If PW ends up at POR, it could turn out to be a nightmare. Been there, did that one year, never again. I switched back to the week after Thanksgiving and told all my friends and family, you want to go - that is my week, no changes. I am glad I leave as they are arriving that following Saturday.

Well I really wanted to stay at POR,but i can goto POP to,love that resort to. Have stay there multable times with my DS. I like how Fun It feels. Beside how long since we stay at POR the hot tub was a draw to,getting to and from the park for the most part will not be that big of a deal because i am planning on renting a car. What if I go to renting a peffered room with a river view,do the PW groups stay in that area??. So are they rude or violent??, i am pretty thick skin and noise usually dont bother me,so what makes it a bad experince?. Thanks for the feed back

They take over the entire resort. The one year, I happened to be there by accident (I usually go the week after Thanksgiving), and the minute I got there I was told I was moved over to a standard room at CSR and I would get credited for the waterview I paid for my room ONE YEAR earlier. I stayed put.

Worst decision of my life.

I would say you may have thick skin, but I think having to call security every night to get parents under control who acted like sailors on leave - girls cheering on the buses, in the corridors, in the aisleways along the rooms until 1:00 am. Boys seeing who could stay under longer in the hot tub every night, was a bit more than I could handle.

I have switched back to the week after Thanksgiving. The weather can be a bit iffy, but manageable.
