Currently booked at POR with a Garden View Royal room. Can switch to CBR Pirate Water view for virtually the same price. Never been to either resort. I understand all things are relative and based on personal preference...here's ours.

We've come to "love" the theme of POR and the reported quaint and quiet atmosphere. We like the boat to DS. We like the walk to FQ for additional amenities and dining. Short (or at least reasonable) walk to the main pool.

BUT...CBR has the Skyliner. And that seems like a big perk. I know POR has the boat to DS, but we will be in and out of parks every day for 8 days. We will go to DS what, 2-3 times? We are also on the QSDP so any input or compare/contrast from the POR/FQ quick service options vs those available at CBR. Also, we will hit the pool every day. Lastly, aside from theme, if there a functional difference between the aforementioned rooms?

Thanks all!

I love CBR, it’s a good sized resort but I find it so relaxing. That said I haven’t stayed in the pirate rooms. The plus is they are close to their own quick service restaurant and super close to the skyliner. The cons they are far away from the main part of the resort and the beds are full sized. The full size beds is a deal breaker for me if I have to share a bed.

The full size beds in the pirate rooms would be a hard no for me. If I wanted to be on the Skyliner, I would go for a room at POP since the beds are queen size.

Completely agree with the PP---stick with POR with the queen beds, unless you are sleeping one person per bed. We love POR and the skyliners are intriguing for me as well---but the smaller beds would definitely keep me away.

Most reviews of the CBR Pirate rooms were pretty yo-ho-ho-hum. I'm not a fan of CBR anyway so there is some obvious bias here. I thought the Royal room at POR was fabulous fun. We ended up in one on my wife and I's Anniversary trip last October as a result of a little Pixie Dust and thought it was just great. 10 out of 10 will do it again.

And while the skyliner is pretty slick, I don't like to make resort choices based too heavily on transportation. Even lousy transportation only really amounts to an extra 20-30 minutes hassle a day. Any more than that and we call in an Uber.

Apples and Oranges. Love the Royal Rooms, no way I'd go back to the Pirate Rooms.
