I had booked a Royal Room, but now that my friend offered to let me use her castmember friend's and family discount, my dream resort is within my reach!

I've never stayed at the Poly before but I love the look and feel of it! Since my boyfriend and I aren't taking the car, being on the monorail loop would be super helpful, as would having a 24-hour snack bar to feed my boyfriend's huge appetite! On the other hand, a riverview Royal Room at Port Orleans - Riverside would be a bit less expensive and we could have a preferred view.

I'm largely leaning towards the Poly, but what do y'all think?

The Poly is our favorite and is such an amazing resort that I would change in a heartbeat (especially with a CM discount :thumbsup2). We have only stayed at the Poly once, but that was enough for us to fall in love with everything about it. I would make the change without hesitation :goodvibes.

I've stayed at both. The royal room riverview at POR was very nice, but no comparison in my opinion with the poly. The monorail is much more convenient then the buses and the poly is just a beautiful resort.

Okay admittedly I have at POR and was at Poly when I was young but girl, if you have a chance to go Poly, go Poly. That is our personal Disney dream!! we dream but then end up Value (actually Moderate this time)

I think the ambiance, the beach/lagoon, the pool, the restaurants and the monorail make it a slam dunk. If you can finagle a deal, I'd go for this once in a lifetime stay. You can always return and do POR (and maybe get upgraded to a Royal room for free by chance), but you will never be upgraded to the Polynesian.

Go for it!!!:thumbsup2

To me it's a no brainer: POLYNESIAN!

Bigger rooms. On the monorail. I'd love to stay there!

I've stayed at Poly once and POR twice. While I love POR, if Poly wasn't that much more I would choose that in a heartbeat.

FWIW - rooms with views may not carry as much weight at the moderates since you don't have a private space to enjoy the view from. All the rooms have exterior corridors and because of this, we found we keep our shade shut most of the time. You could bring chairs outside your room, but strangers will still be walking by. I also don't find the royal rooms to be worth their cost for adults. My BF and I travel with no kids, and I'd just have a hard time justifying the cost for the decor.

Poly all the way. It's so magical at night time to swim while looking at the castle under different color lights. You can view the fireworks while swimming or on the beach. It's just an incredible resort. I've stayed at riverside (honeymoon) and that was magical also. the river boat transportation to Downtown Disney is great. But the Poly is just much more magical an experience.

With all that said we're staying at the All Star Sports this Summer to cut down on the cost. So, of course, you'll have a great time at either resort. But, it looks like this is the year for Poly to me because of that great discount. Don't pass up that great discount.

If you've been offered a rate you can swing at Poly, go for it. The prices will only get higher over time. You can always stay at POR in a RR later.
