We are staying at POR for 4nts. after Thanksgiving, we've requested 2nd. floor room's but know it's not guaranteed. Question is, if we do get first floor we will have trouble with the noise from the room above us? We've stayed on the 2nd. flr. of the POLY without a single sound from the 3rd. floor, but we have no experience at POR, anyone with an opinion or advice let me hear from ya. Thanks.

Occassional noise from outside the door, but I have never heard anyone walking overhead.

We stay POR every year and have not had any noise problems. Enjoy

Regardless of which resort you stay at, I think that the answer to this question would depend upon how courteous your upstairs neighbors are. If they are quiet people, you probably won't hear them much. If they allow their kids to do cartwheels in the room and jump on the beds, then you'll hear them.

That said, we stayed at POR for 10 nights and had no noise problems.

(BTW, I did have a friend who got a kick out of the fact that her ds OD'ed on the refillable Cokes and did cartwheels in their resort room because he couldn't handle all of the sugar and caffeine. They thought it was so funny that he had all of this energy to burn in the room at all hours. All I could think of when she was telling me this "funny" story was that the people below them probably didn't find it to be funny at all :sad2: ).

The answer to this question depends on what your usual level of noise is. That is, if you live on a busy street or your next neighbor is 1/4 mile down the road!! If you're used to some noise, POR will be fine. However, if you're used to absolute silence, I suggest ear plugs (I never travel anywhere without them!) There will be excited kids running by your room yelling, air conditioners going on and off, and noises from your neighbor's showers and toilets. If you think these will bother you, bring ear plugs - they really work great.

Never had problems with noise at POR. Our first trip we stayed at All Star Sports....now that was noise.

Hi,
We have stayed at POR twice, both times in first floor rooms in the AB section, and we did not encounter any noise isses. In fact we did encounter noise issues when we stayed at CSR in a first floor room and that was just for a long weekend stay but we stayed from the Sat. before Thanksgiving through the Saturday after in 2005 and from a Sat to Sat this past Sept and no noise issues to speak of.

:thumbsup2 For the Ear Plugs, they are the BEST in blocking out noise of any kind, like running down the halls/screaming little buggers, and bumping against walls.

WE've stayed at POR many times and never had a problem with noise. We always stay on the first floor . It is one of our favorites.

I don't know if we are lucky or what, but we have never had a problem with noise during any of our 3 trips. We had first floor rooms at POR and CBR and a third floor room at POFQ.

Once I was staying at Coronado Springs (a moderate) and when I went to the room there was this huge roaring fan not far from the door. Inside I didn't notice the fan noise but maybe I wasn't that fussy.

Coming back the next night I had forgotten the building number and the room number although I had a rough idea of where "it" was. Then I remembered the roaring fan and went looking for that. I found the room quite quickly thereafter.

(I don't have a cell phone so calling the front desk from halfway out there was not possible)

We have stayed at POR twice and neither time did we ever hear our neighbors. Our family loves the resort and will be staying there again in a few weeks!!

Our stay at the POR (1st floor) was very quiet. No noise from upstairs, and not even much from outside. We occasionally heard our neighbor's shower...that was about it! :thumbsup2
