I am staying at thr POR resort in October with DH and 3 kids (5,7,9). Any advice on rooms and particulars would be helpful. Shouold we stay near the pool, bus or food court, what is the fastest way to get to the parks, etc. Is there anything else I should know about this resort and kids before heading down (this is our first trip to WDW!)

Thanks.

I prefer the mansion section. We usually request parterre place or oak manor because they are close to the bridge that goes to the main bldg. They share a quiet pool and the bus stop is close. The busiest bus stop is the one near the lobby, so we try to use one of the others often getting on before the rush at the front. The food court here is the best.

We also enjoyed the mansions more.
We stayed at Acadian House which was slightly farther to the food court but closer to the bridge to the main pool. (it really was only a 3 minute walk to everything. We used the North bus depot and it was never crowded. The main bus depot is very crowded in the AM. We loved this resort. Kids loved the pool.
(ages 6 and 9).
Make sure you take the kids to the River Roost Lounge one night to see the piano player (Bob Jackson). He was great. He has them get up and participate. He plays Wed -Sat 7 PM - 12 AM.

We ate at Boatwrights several times. They have a good breakfast. We also ate at the food court. It had a nice variety.

I would be happy to answer any other questions.

You can't stay in the mansion section with three kids. I prefer building 16 in the Alligator Bayou section of POR. The parking is easy, the bus stop is less then 5 minutes if you cut through on the trail and the food court is also quite close. Building 14 and 15 are even closer then 16 to the food court and bus stop but it seems everyone is requesting those buildings and the parking isn't as easy so try for 16. My second choice would be building 27.

Have a good trip !
