Right now we (me, DH, DS (13), DS (10)) have ressies at POP from June 3-June 10. I'm thinking of switching to POR because we have never stayed there and thought it would be fun to try a new place.

Please tell me everything I need to know about this resort. We would like to stay in the mansions section, but I don't know what bldg. to ask for. I think my kids would enjoy being close to the big pool though. It doesn't matter about the bus stop location because we always drive our car to the parks (except for MK...I hate their parking!).

Does this resort have laundry facilities and where are they located?

What do you guys think? Should I switch?

Thanks bunches!

We just stayed at Pop Century and stayed at POFQ last summer. I would definetly switch. We used both pools (POF has the bigger slide) and really enjoyed taking the boat ride to DTD. We stayed at POP one night in January when crowds are supposed to be lower. We felt very crowded, the beds were small and I could feel the springs. If you have the choice I would vote for the moderate hotels. :D Have a great trip.

Hi, ClayandMatt'sMom! My DW and I will be staying at POR for the 2nd time later this week. We were there in '99 when it was still Dixie Landings and we stayed in the Alligator Bayou section. We have requested the Mansions this time but there is no guarantee we will get one. This is a large resort, very spread out, but very nice. The themeing is great. You can check out the building arrangement on the map as well as locating the pool, bus stops, laundry, etc.

POR shares a boat to DTD with POFQ, which is about a 10 minute walk down the Sassagoula River. Boatwright's is a good restaurant for both breakfast and dinner. And, Bob "The Piano Man" Jackson is a not to be missed entertainer who performs Wednesday-Sunday evenings from 8:30 PM to Midnight at POR's River Roost Lounge. You can't go wrong with this resort! :cool1:

Our favorite too. We love POR. We stayed in the mansion section at Magnolia Terrace. Quiet pool right outside of the building. Short walk over the bridge to the main pool and then over to the main building for the food court. Love the boat to DTD. Very pretty at night. Gorgeous grounds. We saw people every day tending to the grounds and checking the pool water for proper chemical levels. We loved our stay and plan to go back in August.
