We are back from our 5 night stay at POR. Our flight was just fine nothing special (NorthWest), and our Tiffany Town Car was waiting and still gave us a grocery stop although our plane was a little late.

Our room was ready, but it was in building 24, which is very far from everything. I requested a different building, but I doubt Dreams Unlimited tried to get us that building. I'm not a Dreams Unlimited fan after this trip. The refrigerator wasn't ready and our door key didn't work. The bell hop let us in and said he'd tell the front desk. Well no one showed up so we had to get going to Chef Mickey's. The bus was PACKED, probably because there was a MNSSHP going on....Anyways, we made it to Chef Mickey's and everything there was fun. We rode the monorail around and enjoyed seeing some people in their halloween costumes. Really got in the mood for our MNSSHP on Sunday.

All in all everything was working out, not very happy with Dreams Unlimited I would never use them again. They couldn't get me a discounted room and I found one at Disney.com, but I was unsure how to switch reservations. By the time the lady got back with me on what to do I lost the discounted room. This move on their part cost me lots of money. They booked Character meals and never told me....I later noticed them on my itineray. They then said they would cancel them. When I was confirming my meals, I found she never did cancel those meals like they said. I definitely like to have total control. I'd never use them again, and if you like control I wouldn't either.

Our room key finally got straightened out, but took a long walk to the front desk to fix it. That place needs to install a few people movers!!

POR was clean, but very, very large. More on the hotel later.POR

Hey Lisa- can't wait to here about the resort, we're staying at POR in 2wks and have requested the Mansions(magnolia Terrace) we'll keep our finger crossed for our request. Hope you had a great trip:wave:

My 12 year old had an amazing sense of direction at this resort. I always felt lost! He could find his way through that place without any problem. LOL!

I just looked on my resort map and the Magnolia Terrace looks like it would be great! Close to the pool with the bar and close to a bus stop and not too far from the food court. If you look at a map, look at bldg #24...that was us...5,000 miles from the food court...didn't even know where the good pool was, the pool by us was small AND we had to pay extra, since it was a "water view"!!

Lisa I would get lost going to our room too when we stayed at POR. SO don't feel bad--- you're not the only one!

Lisa did you enjoy the resort and how was the food at the restaurant/food court? Did you take the boat to DTD?

We thought the food at the food court at POR was good. We had a refrigerator in our room and had a grocery store stop on the way to the resort, so we always ate breakfast in our room...except the morning we ate at Cinderella's castle!!

We liked the nachos and I tasted my son's clam chowder, which was surprisingly good. The meatball sub I split with my daughter was very good. I heard the restaurant there is good, but we were being cheap...a party of 5 is expensive to feed at Disney no matter where you are, but the menu for Boatwrights looked pretty tasty to me, but just a little too expensive for us!

On our last day we checked out and they held our luggage in a room until our Tiffany driver came to get us. The bell hops were very nice, he even gave us a ride to the front. We were pretty sick of walking back and forth on the last day. We then took the boat to DD. It was sooooo relaxing after taking all the shuttle buses to the parks. I loved that boat ride and recommend it. It took about 15-20 minutes to get to DD from Riverside.
