Trying to decide if we wanna splurge and stay at WL, or POR (which we've stayed at before and loved!) Our original plan was two separate rooms at POP. But realized it would not be that much more if we shared a room at a mod or deluxe as there would be more room as compared to POP. It will be my husband, myself, my Mom and our daughter who will be 10months old. So im trying to keep in mind the space for a stroller as well as a pack n play and all of our luggage.

We've never stayed at a deluxe, but have stayed at mods and values in the past. Are deluxe worth the money over moderates? We won't spend a ton of time at the pool, and probably won't take advantage of the restaurants, so those are not a selling factor for us. Are the rooms comparable size wise?

Honestly you will have more room at Pop, an extra bathroom and more privacy! Pop rooms are 260 sq. feet and you will have 2x that, por is 314 sq. feet and imho I can't really see the difference in room size at value vs moderate. Then WL has among the smallest Deluxe rooms on property at 340 sq. feet.

Of course when you step up to POR you get the boat to the Springs and a sit down restaurant but you still have outside corridors. POR and POFQ are our favorites but I don't think I would do one room at either instead of

With the additional "step up" to Wilderness Lodge at 340 sq. feet - you get more amenities but not much more space (or more usable space?) you get inside corridors, balcony, additional dining and the boat to CR and MK.

So I would look at the additional benefits the other resorts provide rather than the additional space as I don't think the rooms are that much larger at either POR or WL.

I was hoping for connecting rooms at Pop, however my Mom is convinced they won’t accomdoate us, and would end up with non connecting rooms. She doesn’t not want to stay in a room that’s not connecting... she’s stressing me out lol. Because we can’t guarentee connecting rooms, we have to look at sharing a room. I know we will be super cramped in a value room.

Your mom is right to be concerned, connecting rooms are never guaranteed and with 3 adults your chances are lower. Is she willing to pay the extra to be in the same room - maybe enough to cover a one or two bedroom at one of the vilas?

or -

Have you looked at Old Key West - the studios are among the biggest on property, you have the boat to Disney Springs and the price is about the same (maybe a bit less ?) than wilderness lodge and you could also look into renting points from a DVC owner.

You have the boat to the Springs and some great amenities although the property is big and there are several bus stops. We stayed there in April and loved it - we had stayed away to the size and number of bus stops but we absolutely loved it.

That extra space at WL may give just enough space for the playpen. You may have to move the small table a bit. There’s also more indoor space to explore if you have a rainy day. Boat to the Contemporary, Poly & Fort Wilderness is a + as well. I’ve stayed at both and have enjoyed multiple stays at each... it all comes down to needs & preference. Good luck & enjoy your trip!!

Yes! She's going to pay for her room if we would stay at Pop, so i've been doing math like crazy trying to figure out where we would be best suited. We've toyed the idea of renting points for a studio, did the math now and a one bedroom is just a little more than i'd like to spend if possible. Basically we're gonna cram in one room somewhere we just got to figure out which one lol.
