O.k so we have switched and switched again.:confused3
Now we have it down to CSR or POR.
We like the pool better at CSR and have heard the buses are great there.
Do POR and PORFQ share buses to the parks??? this must be packed!:scared1:
We like POR to avoid the convention issues and the fact you can share FQ pool and it looks smaller.
There are 3 conventions listed back to back during our stay March 5-14th and I wonder if they are conventions AT csr or just people staying there for conventions off site....
We are a family of 4 (2a, 13yo and 10 yo) a family of 4 (2a 7yo, 6yo) and our parents (63 yo's ha ha)
I think ohhhh the CSR has a gym...but hey will we actually use it....not likely.
the csr may also not participate in the dining plan...not so big deal as we eat lunch and dinner at parks....but??:sad2:
Help.....what do you think and has anyone been to csr with convention issues.

i haven't been to CSR yet.
but yes POR does share buses with POFQ, except when leaving MK at closing. leaving any park at closing you can expect long lines for the bus, but that is the only trouble that we have had with them.
POR and POFQ can share pools with POR having the bigger pool - but speaking of pools, or pool area, the spa at POR is supposed to hold 7, although i have seen 10 in there and sometimes it get full with kids - the spa at CSR is supposed to hold 22.
the boat ride to DTD is very nice, but does share that too with FQ.

Don't let the convention aspect scare you away. This helps keep the pool and buses less crowded because they are busy working during the day. Check out this link for over 150 reviews or my CSR website below. http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=14636077&postcount=392

CSR doesn't share buses like POR/POFQ.

CSR was added to the DDP late last year as well. The final list should be out in late November.

CSR does have a fitness center which is free to its guests and also has a spa, salon, tanning beds, steam room, and full menu room service.

I agree don't let the conventions scare you off. As a conventioneer, I spend the whole day in sessions. DH roamed the resort during the day and he liked it. The majority of the time between 7:30am - 8:00 am & after 5:00 pm is when you'll see lots of people (going/returning from their convention). About breakfast & lunch, the majority of the conventions cater to their participants.
The buses are also great; no sharing. You go directly to your destination.

I like them both. My biggest problem with CSR was the food court. You are charged gratutity, and its self serve. So the 18% pays for a server to bring your drinks to you. If you don't eat there, then no problem.

Our room was excellent, we never noticed convention people, and the one time we took the bus, it was an easy ride. You can avoid the convention by asking to stay on the opposite side of the convention area (right side as you face the check in area).

10% not 18% and the gratuity is split among all the workers including the chefs. One option is to use the "TO GO" tickets so you are not charged 10%.

A big problem that has kept me away from CSR is the fact that there is only one sink and vanity . . .

I like CSR because it has more counter space even though it only has one sink.

I've stayed at both. Hands down I vote POR! For me I find it to be more "magical". The resort is beautiful, lots of pools in addition to the awesome themed pool, great, lush landscaping and excellent food court. No tipping needed and lots of choices.

Could I ask what the "TO GO" tickets are? I plan on doing a quick trip before business in Orlando and was going to stay at CSR. I just want to understand what this all means.

Thanks

Just ask the host/hostess for a "TO GO" ticket so that you will not be charged the 10% gratuity if you want to eat in your room, outside on the patio or by the pool. You can take your food "TO GO" They have a different ticket to stamp for that. The other tickets are for guests that eat in the Pepper Market.

CSR!! Better pool, better transportation that is not shared and great food options.

Well so much for planning.
I had everyone agreed that we would stay at CSR....then called and No standard rooms available!!
We are going in March so I had to book POR......I couldn't get the rest to agree to paying another 12.00 a night for the waterview when they had already agreed to go up to Moderate at my request.
Any chances a standard might become available???

Jeepers ...plan plan plan and change...plan plan plan again.

If you really want CSR I would keep trying! I bet something will open up.
