Has anyone used the Auto Train to travel to FL and home lately? For every Trip Advisor good review, it seems there are 2-3 bad ones. Not traveling until November, but airports are crazy now.

We've done it a few times. It's not bad at all. It's just me and my husband, so we get a roomette and it's fine. You need to be realistic about your expectations (there are times when the train runs late due to fallen trees, weather, etc). And the train is not exactly new and luxurious. But we enjoy not having to fly or drive so it works for us. Plus, I do believe it saves money. The fare is typically less expensive than airfare & rental car. Plus we can pack as much as we want in the car, which means no stops at Publix or Walmart when we get to Florida.
Added bonus: No TSA. I had total knee replacement a few years ago, and I was sick of getting over-examined by the agents when the alarm went off (and it ALWAYS went off). So now I don't have to deal with that.
