Can someone tell me if all the mansions at POR are three stories? I requested Parterre Place. Is this a good choice? I also have a waterview room booked.

Thanks for any info you can give me.

Most of the mansions are, but parts of the same mansion are only two stories. Like the "wing" of the mansion. The main building that you see is 3 stories. Our room was the second story and the top floor of a wing of Magnolia Terrace. The main part of MT was 3 stories. Hope this makes sense. We requested a corner room and it was really nice. I would not pay extra for water view. Just because this could be a view with lots of trees in the way or maybe a view of a fountain. Since the hotel has walkways in front of every room, you are more likely to keep your curtains closed quite a bit. We found we did anyway. You might want to specify river view.
Parterre Place is actually the farthest from the main pool. I don't know if this matters to you as much as being close to the main building. We were at the pool a lot, so we chose MT.

There were no standard rooms left for my FL resident rate so had to get waterview which was $89/night. I wanted to be closest to the bridge to the foodcourt....we won't be spending much time at the pool. We are going Thursday through the weekend and will spend most of our time at the parks. Is the bridge close enough to Parterre place?

Hi Pat,

No, we do not smoke. Is there a reason you like Magnolia Terrace so much? I did ask if we could overlook the quiet pool over by Parterre place since it looked like it was closest to the bridge, but I can always ask for something different when I get there.

My boyfriend and I stayed at Parterre and we loved it. It was right by one of the private 24 hour pools and hardly a walk from the bus stop or the dining hall. We were facing the river on the ground floor, so it was really nice seeing that every morning while leaving. ::MickeyMo

lots of people like Magnolia - I think it is one of the prettiest in the mansion side.

It is very convenient to just about everything.

there is a quiet pool beside it - a bus stop behind it and across the bridge (the bridge goes by the main pool) is the food court.

the food court is not closer to Parterre - once you get across the bridge you still have a walk - through the arcade, the boat dock, the bikes, the front desk, - then you are finally at the food court.

from the Magnolia - you walk across the bridge and you are at the food court.
go look at the map I linked you.

What a GREAT rate!! I hate to ask what the FLA RESSIE rate was?!? :earseek:

We last stayed at this resort in the mid 90's, and enjoyed OAK MANOR (courtyard, waterview) tremendously. We paid about $139 per eve, which at the time we thought was a good rate!! (LOL). Of course, two days before check-out, I returned to the room from the pool to discover the message light on the phone. The front desk had called, to thank us for selecting POR. Then, we were offered a rate of $79 per eve, if we wished to extend our stay! I knew DH had time remaining (off), so I called and extended the stay (changed the flights as well). When I returned to the pool, DH was relaxing w/DD. He commented on the beautiful day, and great stay we had all enjoyed. He lamented about leaving, and how he wished we could stay longer. One of my best memories, includes telling him we WERE staying longer. He smiled, closed his eyes...and laid back in the warm rays of the summer sun. :sunny:

:goodvibes You will LOVE POR...and the mansions!

If you asked for and get this, you will be very close to the bridge over to the main building. You will love your stay.

Just got back from Parterre. I thought it was very convenient. I asked for a second floor room, not realizing that they were three floors in places, and ended up being grateful for the flushing toilet above me that woke me our last day, after setting the alarm wrong!
