POR for 10 and 12 year old?

We have been given the surprise "gift" of being able to go to Disney for 4 nights the second week of November. (DH has a conference to attend 1 1/2 days out of the 5) Because it's such a short stay I want to stay on-site. We have two kids, a girl 10 and a boy 12. Do you think they would enjoy POR. Would the FQ or Riverside be better? I'm thinking the arcade and the pool will be important to them. Any thoughts? THANK YOU SO MUCH.

POR would be our choice. The pool is more adventurous (my kids at an even younger age saw the FQ pool and thought it was too young for them). The resort has all of the amenities right there and you wouldn't have to travel over from FQ for such, like a sit down meal. I think they would love the Tom Sawyer feel of POR, great resort with kids.

I would go with POR. The pool is great, and the arcade was a hit with my nephews. The paddle boats, fishing and other rentals seem better for 10 and 12 year olds then what is at POFQ. POFQ is nice, but I would suggest it for real little ones (pool) or couples. We were just there two weeks ago and everything was great. I posted a report on the place last week, and would be glad to answer any questions you have.

My vote is definitely for POR! DH and I were just there this weekend. We don't have kids, but we had a great time and I definitely think the kids would enjoy it. The playground and pool are look like lots of fun, and there are surray bike rentals and boat rentals at the marina. We rented a paddleboat and paddled around the river - fun and inexpensive!

You guys are terrific. Did you use the Disney transportation much from POR?

The buses are great coming from POR to the Parks. Never had problems !!!!

We love POR!!!!!!!!!!!

Never waited more than 15 minutes for a bus.

We stayed at POR Memorial Day week 2004 and LOVED it. At the time our girls were almost 13, almost 9 and almost 5 (Aug, June & Sept birthdays!). They absolutley loved it. Loved all the squirrels, rabbits, and ducks that roam freely, the room w/trundel beds were great and even enjoyed the small quiet pools that are scattered about. Great place to go!!
